I’ve never seen a bear commit suicide. I have see a bear greedily stick its head into a jar and then flail about as it’s unable to extract itself.
The real question Russia needs to ask itself right now is will it be more painful to let the white man or the china man remove the jar.

Meh 6 of one and half a dozen of the other. Note, I didn’t say that he was Hitler or he was even approaching Hitler level of evil; I just pointed out that he is acting like Hitler.

Yes, because not wholeheartedly supporting a regime so corrupt it would make New Orleans blush that also contains military units LITERALLY DISPLAYING NAZI INSIGNIA AND SYMBOLS automatically makes one an anti-Semite. Really???
Russia is more corrupt than Ukraine. So shut the f**k about corruption, because you obviously don’t know shite about either country.

That's not exactly a ringing endorsement for dumping $40bill into Ukraine.

Yeah, it's like saying that OJ is a standup guy when compared to Ted Bundy.

Dipshit, I was responding to someone else. Take it up with them.
I'm personally enjoying watching Russia stub their toe while at the same time slowly grinding Ukraine's regime up. This couldn't have gone any better, in my eyes, minus us getting involved.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Even if the enemy we are friendly with is more corrupt than we would like.
Ukraine was part of the Soviet Union for generations. How were they culturally supposed to emerge from scores of agnostic and despotic years as an evolved, moral paragon of governmental virtue after that history within 30 years?
Is Ukraine more corrupt than we would like? Sure. Is Chicago more corrupt than we would like? Yup. Both of those examples pale in comparison with Russian corruption.
I would argue that having a surrogate fight Russia and possibly influence regime change there (optimistically possibly the better?) is a good investment even with the knowledge some aid will be skimmed.

Couldn't it be argued that Ukraine is winning the war WITHOUT our $40 billion, and thus that the $40 billion could be better spent in the U.S. on things like:
1. Building a pipeline from the Mississippi River to the Colorado River to replenish Lake Meade and ease drought issues in California and Nevada.
2. Building additional capacity for producing baby formula to end the shortages.
3. Repairing bottlenecks at our nation's ports and railroad lines to ease the supply chain crisis.
4. Securing more sources for fertilizer to prevent crop failures and famine.

Today from Igor Strelkov
For those who don't know who this is, Igor Strelkov (also known as Igor Girkin) is a hyper Russian nationalist who was central to the 2014 invasion of the Donbas. He has commented frequently on the war and his more recent commentary has been critical of Russia's efforts.
This is long so I won't paste the entire article that is translated from his Telegram Post

Let's imagine for a second, that in the next few weeks the enemy will be after all defeated through continuous frontal and flank attacks, and completely pushed out of LDPR borders. And? What will this achieve? Will this end the war? No, not at all. At best - it will reduce the frontline, not more. Let's say the enemy suffers heavy losses (they do now). But in those weeks they will be able (thanks to continuing mobilisation) to prepare new fresh reserves. Moreover, they already have these reserves! The enemy is so confident in the strategic stability of their frontline (abandoning 1-2 localities in 2-3 days has no effect on this) that they continue keeping a relatively large group at the border of Transnistria, and even created a new (several army BTGs) at the border with Belarus. And they continue forming new units and detachments both in deep rear, and also in Sumy and Chernihiv Oblasts given up by Russian forces during the 'run to the border'.
Thus, when the weakened in heavy fights and bloody assaults troops reach the borders of LDPR, they will be met by fresh and well-equipped UAF units at frontiers prepared for defence in advance. And even if those fresh units for whatever reason decide not to take over the initiative and begin a counter-offensive (one or more) - still the Russian Federation will face a perspective of a long positional war, which is nearly fatal (in current conditions) to our economy, social and socio-political situation.

We are creating money like drunken money printers.
Just have the boys at the Bureau of Engraving work a couple of double shifts and print up an additional $40B.
Increased M 1 is merely a keystroke away!

In addition, the U.S. is actively working to organize the supply of long-range anti-ship missiles to Ukraine to lift the blockade of the Black Sea - Reuters, citing U.S. officials.
I saw the UN politely asking Mr Putin to allow Ukrainian grain shipments to pass to no avail. I prefer Joe Bidens way of lifting the blockade myself.

I was listening to CNN on my way to the dentist's office (I have to have a tooth pulled next week :( ), and they were discussing that there are still fighters in the Astoval plant who are not surrendering. Evidently one of the commanders, a Major in Azov, and an unknown number of soldiers remain in the plant.

Yea, they are hard to listen to but so is Fox anymore. I listen to both when I'm out running around, mainly looking for war news.

We just passed a trillion infrastructure bill. I guess they could have made it 1.04 trillion.
We spend $800 billion a year on defense. We don’t need that much money to just keep foreign nations from invading our shores. We need that amount to preserve a world order that benefits us tremendously. If you don’t like this spending the logical jump is to argue to largely defund our military.

Yea man let’s just build several nuclear power plants to power huge pumps, as well as an immense canal in order to push water 1,000+ miles west and over 1,000 feet uphill. That definitely sounds sustainable and realistic.
