Ronde Barber needs to be on there with Charles Woodson.

Barber didn’t miss a game after his rookie year. Played 16 regular season games every year.

Maybe even Brian Dawkins

I love Ronde barber

Was never a huge Dawkins guy, but he fit the period. I’d take Darren sharper & John lynch ahead of him for instance

Dwight Freeny needs to be on the list.

Like I said, Freeney's peak was insane, but look how he stacks up with other pass rusher's from 90-present.

Of guys not mentioned, Strahan, Jason Taylor, Jared Allen, & Ware I would have over him for sure. shite, Cam Jordan as a 2-way end might have a case too.

He's second on my list. If his first 6 season would have been in the 90s I would have had him first.

Lawrence Taylor redefined the position of outside linebacker. He will always be the most dominant defensive player in my lifetime

Donald does it from the inside of the line, against the big uglies. taking on 2-3 guys and still getting into the back field

Von Miller will continue to climb that list. By the end of his career, I could absolutely see him as a top 10 defensive player.

JJ Watt, before injuries, was a better player than Aaron Donald is. Dude was unstoppable. Awesome pass rusher, great against the run, and ridiculous at batting down passes. His 2012 season has to be the best individual defensive season ever.

Donald has had 8 pro-bowls and 7 first team all pro selections in his career.

His career has lasted 8 seasons.

Ray Lewis, king of the “jump on pile get credit for tackle”. Won SB MVP with 3 solo tackles.

Urlacher was legitimately good at everything, and might be the best play making LB in history (that wasn’t a pass rusher

He was good, but this is just a ridiculous take.

A damn good argument could be made that he’s not even the best Bears linebacker in history

I would think leaving Watt off is because you think he’s a douche

Look at the historical winners of DPOY. There are probably 10 dudes you can make a god argument for.

Donald - 3
Watt - 3
Taylor - 3
White - 2
Frick ton of guys - 1

Check out Watt’s numbers first 5 seasons before injuries. Undeniably better than Donald. Also, in those 5 years, 4 times first team all-pro, 3 time defensive player of the year. First healthy season after 2 seasons of injuries, first team all-pro.

Watt was better, but injuries ruined his career. He had enough time before injuries to show he was a better player than Donald when healthy. Not like it was a 1 year fluke season.

And that’s with Watt getting injured while on a run more dominant than anything we’ve seen from a defensive player. Donald probably doesn’t get that first defensive player of the year award if Watt is healthy.

Watt has just spent the last 6 years of the end of his prime either hurt, or just not effective as he was

He has 27.5 sacks in the last 6 season

compared to Reggie White's age 27-32 yr old seasons : 85.0

That's what he is missing out on

Some of you didn’t watch Bruce smith and it shows…

200 career sacks, from a 34 DE position next to Jeff weight at NT.

I’m not saying Watt sucks, or that Watt isn’t all decade, or that he isn’t a first ballot HOF player. I just think that Donald is better. That’s all.

And injuries are part of the career. They suck but it’s part of it.
