And History.

The Nazis and Fascists were socialists. Not much to argue there unless you don't like that reality and want to change it because of bias.

There are some ''arguments'', or as I call them mental gymnastics by ignorant people to contest this claim. Let me shred them for you.

1st Just because the Nazis called themselves socialist doesn't make them socialist !

True, but they not only called themselves socialists, they enacted several socialist and central planned economy meassures, as described by Peter Temin in his comparison of Soviet RUssia and the Nazis economy
LINK

2 The Nazis didn't nationalized all private business !!!

This comes from complete ignorance of what Socialism is. The socialist who said in socialism the state must own all means of production was Karl Marx, but Karl wasn't the inventor of socialism nor the only socialist around. Several other models of socialism allowed private production to exist on several levels. The objective of socialism is to have the means of production to serve social goals, or collectivist goals, which the Germans absolutely did under Hitler ( read previous document made by Temin ).

3 Hitler hunted socialists so he couldn't be a socialist.

Well then I guess no country has ever been socialist, because literally all socialist dictators have killed other socialists. Trotsky would like a talk with these people.

I think it is ridiculous that so many on the right are so scared of being called names like racist or fascist by the people that want to literally kill them and would actually rape and torture their children. They will not stop fighting their fight to destroy you, your family, and people like you. It is their mission from God. Fascism doesn't have any real negative connotation either, other than being what Spain used to fight communism, what Italy was poorly while trying to rebuild Rome, and it is (incorrectly) associated with Germany while it was on the verge of wiping out communism globally. Luckily, according to most on this board apparently, we put a stop to that by helping the communists. We also got rid of the last vestiges of European monarchy with the world wars.

I hope you guys can wake up to the fact democracy and the republic is just a slow slide to what you don't want. Our founders warned of it. Some of our founders even explicitly warned about who would subvert. The reason fascism is so feared by the left is because they can't subvert it or pay it off like they can in democracy and republics.

The Spanish weren't Fascists. Franco was a royalist and wanted to institute a Monarchy. They are called fascists because for any moron who knows nothing of history any authoritarian , under any context is a fascist.

Semantics. National socialism and fascism for all practical purposes is a monarchy.

Why is fascism connected to "RIGHT WING?"

It's mostly the Nationalism factor.

And don't fool yourself, most so-called conservatives love them some big government when it serves their interests. It wasn't the liberals who started eroding our 4th Amendment rights under the War on Drugs.

But mostly it's the nationalism.

The brand name, basically.

Fascism originally meant unity, and 100 years ago there were fascist left and fascist right parties. The only capital-F fascist party to take power was in Italy.

The most widely definition today includes nationalism and religion, but those are political tactics and have nothing to do with actual governance.

Pro Tip: the political line chart is not a 2D flat line, it wraps around and touches at the extremes.

Because it is right wing. It’s just auth-right. Most people who associate themselves with the “right” today, especially here, are lib-right

Why? Because the Left is forever deflecting the truth, and hiding behind lies.

Because the fascist left controls the history books and the definition of words.

We’re at a place in history politically where the old monikers of political affiliation no longer apply….here’s the current line of demarcation.

You’re either a person who believes in personal freedoms and a sovereign United States of America (America First patriot) or you’re a NWO Marxist Globalist.

I’m 59, so not a student. You make a great point that there is little difference between fascism and communism. You will see that very point made in the post with which you so vehemently disagreed.

That is an absurd pictorial of the political spectrum. That looks like the kind of propaganda Iran would put out. That is NOT the accepted categories. Fascism is universally considered right wing and communism is universally considered left wing. And everywhere they appear you will find them bitterly opposed, and usually to the death.

Hitler rose because his fascists were the only power that could suppress the hated Marxists. Franco was a fascist who was opposed in revolution by the Marxists of Europe and the USA. Go read For Whom the Bell Tolls.

Here is a Marxist view of fascism:
quote:

Leon Trotsky brilliantly analysed the development of fascism during its rise in the 1920s – first in Italy, and later in Germany. He argued that fascism was unlike traditional forms of reaction, whereby a small layer of the existing state apparatus would move to take power. Instead, fascism was based on a mass movement – mostly of the frenzied middle-class and de-classed layers – with its aim to destroy all forms of working-class organisation.

Note that the fascist want to combat the working class in favor of the middle class. The commies want to elevate the working class.

The reason Americans are confused about fascism is that we have no working class as Trotsky understood it. Our working class has long since been absorbed by our middle class. This is what blunted the appeal of Marxism in the US.
