Since matter cannot be created or destroyed. I believe that our life force continues, just not within our bodies after death.

Afterlife. The human body is so complex and miraculous, there is no way that it wasn’t created by a supreme being..

Except you wake up from sleeping. And your brain is still functioning even if you're not conscious. That's a pretty presumptuous claim.
I didn't "claim" anything. I was saying i don't understand the fear\worry about an afterlife. If you cease to exist you would have no worry. Like you don't worry about being asleep. You go out like a light and there's no worries until you wake up. i love sleeping. i think it's one of the best things.

How can you be cognizant of being at peace if you don't exist to experience it?
Absence of pain and worry. Absence of anything. Again, the sleeping state is seemingly great until you wake up. Then all hell breaks loose.
i have no concern on whether or not i proceed to some other state afterwards.

i wanted to read and respond to some of these posts, but I can't even get through the 2nd page of this.
It's pretty sad how many lost people there are posting on here.

You guys should start attending church on Sundays, it's never too late.
I Did for 19 years. (I only ever remember missing once in that time.) I stopped going when I moved out and have never gone back (except funerals and weddings).
I hated going and could never understand why grown adults that had to get up early 5 or 6 times a week to work would then voluntarily get up on a day off. (And use up half a day of their two days off! I still can't believe people do this.)

It really is. They are desperately clinging to something, but it doesn't seem to be helping them.

Motivated perception much?

God created all of us.
We are God's children.
Do you want your children to just die, and simply revert to nothingness ?
And remember God has unlimited power.

I believe we are in somewhat of a "hell" and we have to work our way out. We will suffer along the way, some more than others but if you hold to the truth and Jesus, you will make it through and get to the Kingdom of Heaven.

This story will completely blow your mind.
The boy who proved he was a pilot 80 years ago. Nobody believed him, but the story was confirmed.

We don’t really have a choice in the matter. But it feels good to think you may see your passed loved ones when your time comes. And organized religion leverages that hope against its members to control them.

Well no one has ever come back and told us whats what. Right?
I kind of hope its like that movie Defending Your Life. We get to view scenes from the past. But also maybe we can go back to any point in history. Maybe all the things you ever thought of changing in your past and get to see what happens.

You perceive an absence of pain and worry because you wake up and have something to contrast sleep with.
If you don't exist, please explain how you can perceive an absence of pain and worry.

Sadly ironic coming from someone who said earlier in this thread about their life.
quote:
. i go to work. eat. sleep. read a bit, watch a bit of TV, maybe catch a nap.
You wrote that with what you think is a laissez-faire sense of cool detachment, but you just told us what you "cling to."

Everything you see was ultimately created by gravity and nuclear fusion.

No I wrote that to simply say that day to day living isn't evil. That i wasn't choosing "evil."
I was supposed to type actual events? Okay, in reality I went to a restaurant and got a gyro and potato skins then went to see a fusion band, had some good conversations etc. An overall nice time was had.
If i cling to anything it's Music."Music is the best."

One wouldn't perceive it. No existence, no worry. Nothing.
