Is it possible to be disappointed with the last few games but not want to fire the coach?

Why does it have to be one or the other? Sure the last few games have been disappointing. I like winning like anyone else does. He deserves some criticism for the shite product last night for sure. It's possible to say all of that and still support him and what he has done for the program. The disappointment comes from the expectations he's set by bringing our program to life from what is about as close to rock bottom as one can get. We had a damn Tuba player starting for our basketball team a few years ago for God's sake. Appreciate how far the program has moved along since that disaster. Let the season play out and see where things go.

The ceiling is kind of starting to show but I hope I’m wrong.

This is the reasonable, correct take. The moron bingo card is filled up daily here. Give the man some time while still understanding that the product on the court isn't up to standards right now.

They dont understand that the reason for their fire and brimstone is the expectations Will set by his past success and the start to this season. The fact that this board melts after each loss is just more proof that the program is back

Not here. Catastrophic syndrome is too strong here.

Made the comparison in another thread. In 2018-2019, Auburn lost to USCe, who did not even make the NIT, and lost to Ole Miss twice. Hit a stretch losing 4 out of 6.

At that time, they were hit hard by injuries. Didn't fire Pearl, instead got healthy won the SEC Tournament and made the the Final Four (were one bad call away from playing for a title).

Now look where that program is at. A lot of near sided people. Unfortunately, on this issue, I'm afraid our AD is in the same boat with him. He's looking for a reason to bring in "his guy."

I'm not hearing a lot of people calling for his firing. I am starting to hear a lot of people question his coaching in year 5, and rightly so. I think the biggest thing is people are pushing back against those calling him General, Elite, great, etc. It hasn't been earned. I realize most of this group is kids getting their first taste of the NCAA trny.

The fact that you keep blaming injuries vs the actual style of play says it all. This team is by no means a contender...none. if they actually make the trny, depending on the matchup, they might even win a game. They aren't going far though. Just not a disciplined well coached team

While this is true, at some point it will catch up to you. I don't think that LSU or Wade is at that point yet, but it is what it is. He set the expectations, so he needs to keep up with them.

If we are going to criticize Wade my main criticism is the lack of offensive creativity. It's shows when you do not have offensive creators on your team. Prior WW teams were blessed with really good offensive talent. Guys that could create off the dribble.

We do not have players on this team that can create off the dribble on a consistent basis. So, we need a creative scheme in our offensive half court sets. This is where WW needs improvement IMO.

I can't wait for the day when WW gets players on the team that are very good offensive players but also are good enough to play solid defense. For example Waters, Watford and Thomas were great off the dribble but they were defensive liabilities. Would be great to get players that can play offense and defense at a high level to hide WW's offensive half court coaching deficiencies.

Dude, did you watch the Tennessee and Kentucky games. This team was rolling.

Keep in mind, this team is a year ahead of schedule, we were preseason number 5 or 6 in the conference. We lost 80% of last year's offensive production. The fact that we had early success with a revamped roster is a hell of a coaching job.

Yes, the injury to Pinson is the BIGGEST reason we have lost 5 of 6. Are there other factors, absolutely.

If I had to guess, you're one of the posters who kept referring to LSU's offense the previous two seasons as "street ball" and "unorganized," despite the fact that we had one of the highest offensive efficiency ratings in the nation.

This season will not tell you anything about Wade’s ceiling.

People seem to forget that this was supposed to be a sort of rebuilding year. You had one returning starter and two returning contributors.

Next year you will return the majority of this team and add at least 2-5 stars with the possibility of another reclassifying. You will have a better idea of Wade’s ceiling then.

There's a word for people who think like that. Adults. And this is no place for that sort.

The trajectory of it is pretty similar to the previous two seasons. Have critical stretches of looking bad to where it affects seeding, but winning just enough here and there to get into the tournament.

Is that what your problem is?! You're mad people made up a nickname for the coach and made memes on the internet?

It all makes sense now...

Yeah it's very possible if you are a rational thinking fan. But 90% of this board is not rational. Wade has his faults as an X and O's guy for sure but he is an excellent recruiter and this program is in so much better shape than when he got here. It's a rough patch right now for sure and I think they need to get back to focusing on the defense. The offense is what it is at this point. Having an elite defense can get you to Final Fours and winning championships.

Yes, valid criticism is equal to calling for firing. Got it. At least in your participation trophy world.
