I don't think it will be anything like last years winter storm, but I may go to the store for some things that we already need.

Democrats and liberals are heavily hyping this "storm" hoping it turns into a clusterfrick so Beto's floundering campaign can get some new life.

I'm already seeing them blame Abbott already for power outages that haven't happened yet. I am not a big Abbott fan but a lot of the hype surrounding this is 100% political.

Beto has literally ran his campaign on one issue - the power grid. Hence why democrats are going all in - they need chaos, which likely isn't going to happen. And then they will look stupid having to answer for the obituaries they already wrote.

This seems like the least well-pinned-down forecast for a big event that I can remember here. Some of the Purdue students are anticipating complete apocalypse, local TV meteorologist is saying GFS is overstating.

Me, I just want it to be all snow, whatever amount.

If its all snow, Id think you do very well on the totals and Id think youd be all snow as far north as Lafayette is. Your bust potential, seems to me, if the band is a little further south and you just dont get as much snow.

NWS forecast has 6-10" just Wednesday, so the operational mets in your area certainly think it'll deliver a lot of snow.

Rummy: Stock up a little. Austin ought to get some ice and I mean better to be able to get blackout than need to and have to skate to the liquor store.

We lost power for almost a week last year. You could see your breath inside the house.

Precip wise this is worse, cold wise no about 5 to 10 degrees warmer. Overall impacts in northern Texas are different but similar.

Right. Not as widespread or as cold. Less stress on the grid as a whole, but for those who get the heavy precip it could be more impactful with power lines coming down.

bullshite, Abbot has been all over the news saying the changes made by the legislature will prevent any problems even though this storm is nothing like last year's.

Thanks. The snow I don't mind at all. It's what comes down while the temp is in transition from above freezing to below that's got me nervous.

Get healthy (if I read your previous post correctly) and thanks for paying attention to this stuff.

The biggest problem DFW will have is the ice will come before the snow. So all the Chads, Brads and Kyles in their F350's are just gonna be playing bumper cars on the highway. I'm sure I'll go to the store later and there will have been a run on the shelves though.

I'd love to catch a flight to somewhere in the jackpot zone. May your winter storm only be copious amounts of fluffy snow.

And just a touch of the ole omicron and its progressing very mild. My 1 year old has already shaken it off and now Im forced to have to stay indoors and just watch a winter storm evolve.

Everyone seems to be getting it this go around. Got a call from an aunt and uncle today that they have it. Other family had it the past week or so. All of them seem to have shaken it off without much issue.

NAM toned down the bright orange a bit on the 18z run. The apocalyptic 2.41" freezing rain accumulation is now "just" 1.34". Memphis still in the crosshairs.
