Double Jet vs Banjo burner for boiling

Doing a comparison between a couple bayou classic burners. The stainless double jet and their banjo burner. Both 200k BTU or higher.
Question is…. Are BTUs equal when comparing the 2? Will a 200k banjo heat as quickly as a 200k Jet?
Why does everyone use jet, What are the cons of getting a banjo instead of jet?

I’ve always been surprised there’s not much online information about burner type and use and regulator type and use. And how it relates to BTU, air flow, oxygen amount, etc. PSI on regulators and propane tank sizes, etc.
I’ve looked for info to learn about this topic and haven’t found a good source.

I called THIS place and they said jet burners boil faster. I think BTU is BTU but its how the BTU is delivered that makes a difference? He also said their round "jet" burners are loud like the regular one.
If you get a banjo style I say swap the regulator that seems to make a marked difference.
Also make sure you text me to come watch the experiment

Crawfish and crabs mostly

I have a double jet. The last couple times I used it the regulator froze up and it wasnt getting full power. Im going to run a line straight from the tank to the pot and see if that makes a difference.

I am more interested in propane jet burner versus natural gas 32-48 port jet burner ring.

I would rather wait an extra minute or two and have the quiet. I am usually the one boiling and with a jet you can't hear anyone.

I am torn. I put the pot in a spot that allows us to have a louder than normal conversation and I would like it to not be as loud. Then I think about that sound and what it means and it kinda just adds to the experience. Like you know when that sound cuts off everyone starts salivating for the soak to be done Pavlov response

Went through 2 banjo burners in 10 years . Low noise but they rust out over time. Just got a double jet for Christmas , will keep you posted .

I have some jet burners and I just don't turn them up all the way to start. All they do is drain tanks. I have them at a moderate level and just crank it up when I drop the crawfish in.
Tbh, we are going into overkill with some of the current setups

You sure it wasn't your tank freezing? Double jets need a bigger than standard tank because of how fast the draw is (I think?). I have a single jet but upgraded the regulator to 30 psi and the propane tank will freeze if I crank the regulator to wide open and I don't set it in a shallow tub of water.

Those who use the double jet, how long does it take to get your pot boiling? I’m at a full 30 min right now and looking to cut that down.

My wife's grandpa made me a custom jet, and it boils dat water in 10 minutes
ETA: I'm surprised it doesn't burn a hole in the pot

Are you using a burner with a stock regulator? Chances are it's only 10 PSI. Switch it out for a 30 PSI for $30 and you will notice your boiling time cut down significantly. This is what I have.
