Did you go to summer camp?

I never attended. I was always in sports/baseball/summer sport clinics.
I was always jealous of kids who went to a 2 week or so summer camp, sounded fun at least.
Reason I'm asking is I have young kids and thinking about it down the road for them.

Vacation Bible School is as close as I ever got

I did with the Boy Scouts. It was always a blast. Hanging out with your buddies around the campfire telling stories and jokes. We attended week-long summer camps in Arkansas, Georgia, Indiana, and New Mexico. We did things like canoeing, and backpacking. Also learned various skills in merit badge classes held by the camp. It was honestly some of the best times of my life.

I attended 4-H camp, but that’s about it. They taught us hunter safety and that kind of thing. I was too shy to do very much of that, though.

Still pretty common here in NC. Some of these camps are NICE, and very very expensive

Yes, but it was not one where I went away. It was just one that ran for about 4-6 weeks during the summer.

We had 6-7 boys all the same age in our neighborhood so it was wide open every summer day, building forts, pellet guns, dirt bikes etc etc etc
