I identify as republican. However, if the US did have a breakup, we’d all be screwed. Maybe we need to just focus on regaining control of the House for now.

One of the biggest problems is that republicans will never stand up to democrats even if they do get power. The notion of voting in republicans to change things or to stop the left is beyond laughable.

Republicans are just progressives who drive the speed limit.

I don’t. I vote for them as the lesser of 2 evils usually.

Divorce usually isn’t a good idea, and that’s especially true of a nearly 250-year-old continental nation.

First line is cringe as hell. "Divorce usually isn't a good idea" what's the author's definition of usually?

How do you think the break up between Ds and Rs would work? Every state has both voters. Are the red state going to kick the blues out and the blue states kick the reds out?

The divorce could be what this country needs. Sometimes it’s what’s best.

Or maybe New America could be a responsible, well functioning, financially sound, non mass spying, non war waging healthy society.

We’re gonna be screwed anyway if the Marxists get total control.

Quick: name the top 5 countries that had an internal split and had a good time about it.

You do realize a divorce is a give and take procedure don’t you? There are professional mediators. It is a painful process but not as painful as to where this country is headed otherwise

I posted in the other thread that if it means I sell out and move I would do it as my part to make it happen

And it’s not far fetched. I believe a summer time poll was 55% R and 45% D willing to do it.

The SCOTUS is going to give America First patriots the true indication if a separation of like minded people is necessary. If the SCOTUS rules the authoritarian regime can mandate vaccines that are proving to be less and less effective against a virus....then we'll know what time it is.

If you think of it on a sliding scale, it looks like this.

If you start dead center and you elect Democrats, things move to the left a few notches. If after them, you elect Republicans, things either stand still, or only move SLIGHTLY left. If after them, you go Democrats, things lurch left again. This pattern repeats continuously.

Voting in Republicans NEVER moves us back to any starting point. All ground lost while Democrats are in power stays lost, and the only thing which happens by electing Republicans, at best, is a moratorium on far left policies.

Starting in 1970, we've had 32 years of Republican Presidents. Since 1970, does the country seem more right leaning, or left leaning in comparison to the US of 1970?

It’s an analogy. You’re being obtuse. (I hope for your sake.)

We could get the professionals that helped formally separate East Timor from Indonesia. The US and Australia probably still have their contact info, since they helped set it up.
