Which guy that I listed has won anything? Go back in your hole, this discussion is clearly over your head.

I get the impression Kelly isn't playing around with kids who have their hands out. I feel like those are the type of kids who have been quitting on us for the last 2 years.

Part of the head coaches job is to develop these young men on the football field and in life. It will partly on him to help build up the character of these guys. You cant win in this conference without talent

I just don’t understand the discussion here at all. Do people really think that Kelly, Wilson and Polian are clueless when it comes to recruiting and player assessment? It’s absurd to think they just dropped the ball on a 5-star recruit because they don’t know what they are doing. I think Perkins saying that Kelly called and he wasn’t available tells us all we really need to know about LSU’s chances with him. He had relationships formed over 2+ years with the staffs at A&M, Texas, Bama, etc. It seems it was too late to jump into the game and he made his lack of interest clear. I don’t care how many ties he had to LSU. Those don’t seem to have been a primary motivator for him.

Left behind ? like with Ricks, Gilbert, etc? I’m sick of the me first guys that only use LSU as a stepping stone and jump off at the first chance.

Exactly. They called, he was taking pictures and showed disinterest. What I dont get is that he actually doesn't have any ties to LSU other than his handler(unc) being an LSU fan.

Thug. Doesn’t seem to be a high character guy at all. No wonder CBK hasn’t talked to him. We’ll see. Not holding my breath on this one. Show Me the money!!!!!

we dont need the thug types anymore. like you said they are the cancers and the quitters. they are the ones who come to practice when they want, always show up late, talk back to the coaches.

Not true in the case of CFB. These kids want money now but ultimately want the big payday that comes from getting drafted. The transfer portal will be much more active moving forward. Some of these NIL deals won't be paid accordingly, kids won't get playing time they feel they deserve, etc. and kids will leave. At the end of the day, playing time is what will set them up for the ultimate payday.

Unfortunately, some kids will lose out on their dream because they're too focused on the now.

They want $$$$ so bad right now, they will go to the highest bidder who may not put them in the best position to succeed and get drafted. Book it!

well the secondary and linebackers were shyte last night. Can tackle in space or cover anyone. Everyone can see this. Clark is gone now. Even the ones who couldn't play aren't championship caliber.

Kelly better get some LBs in place pronto because we only got one to sign with us this year. We really should have got this Harold kid or someone else just as good in addition to Tolan.

Louisiana kids generally want to play for LSU. But Money is money. We will have to put comparable packages together so that the money factor is negligible and the Louisiana connection wins out. That said what is the going rate by position by star rating? Seems like the Wild West or maybe a gold rush at the moment. But this will settle down. The LSU folks (staff? TAF?) will have to know what it takes in general to land star players. At some point even if you are an LSU fan 100%, if the new normal is 5 stars get paid, the 5 star LSU lifelong fan will get something. Right? Soon we will need an on staff analyst/salary cap guy.

Its a transition year for CBK. Behind the 8 ball with recruiting and trying to build a staff.

Look to next recruiting season as your barometer.

I agree with you that we need 4-5 star talent mostly over intellectual talent, however, we can get 4-5 star talent with a regular size brain than the pea brain that Perkins portrays. There is no way that guy will be able to line up a defense as it was painful to hear him talk and answer questions in that interview. Furthermore, he has his hand out, the family wheelbarrow, etc. for the most money he can make, which tells me that guy will bolt at the first sign of adversity he faces.

We need talent and high character kids to re-develop LSU's roster and CBK will get it with the current 13 high school signatures, the #1 OL we got from the portal, the long snapper, other high school signees like Jacoby Mathews, Citizen, plus a few others, and some experience and college ready players from the portal as follows:

Defense- LSU needs CB (3) and LB (2) bad, a safety and a couple DL

Joseph- S - Northwestern 4 star, 1-2 years eligibility
Simon- S- Notre Dame 4 star, 1-2 years left
Foucha- S - Arkansas 3 star, 1 years left
Bush- CB - Arkansas 4 star, 3 years left
Green-Warren- CB - Michigan 4 star, 4 years left
Offord- CB - Notre Dame 3 star, 1-2 years left
Norwood- CB - Tex. A&M 4 star, 1-2 years left
Carlton- EDGE Rusher, Utah 4 star, 4 years left
Henry-Young- DL - Ohio State 4 star, 1-2 years left
Jeffries- DL - Clemson 3 star, 1-2 years left
Butler- DL - Auburn 4 star, 4 years left
Player- DL - Tulsa 4 star, 1-2 years left
Boykin- DL - Louisville 4 star, 1-2 years left
Sermon- LB - Washington 4 star, 1-2 years left
Latu - LB - Washington 4 star, 1-2 years left
Bright- LB - Pitt 3 star, 1-2 years left

Offense- OL (3-4 more to add to the 4 good ones in early signing), TE (1), RB (1-2), 2 great WR to make up for 3 lost La. recruits

Lay- TE - Clemson 4 star, 1-2 years left
McMillan- OT - Miss. State 3 star, 1-2 years left
Swoboda- OT - Virginia 3 star, 1-2 years left
Need more quality OT/OG that gets in the portal the next 30 days
Turner- WR - Arkansas 4 star, 4 years left
