Ok explain to me if the virus is no big deal, why are so many people getting tested?
Explain why 80 million people, supposedly, voted to tank the economy.

this is pathetic. sheep.
the media won’t stop driving the fear porn until we’re back to lockdowns, mandates, and virtual learning.

My side hustle is working for a lab that supplies rapid and PCR tests at no charge. I have more tests than I know what to do with, but no one responds to emails or phone calls when I try to help. They rather just complain about a shortage instead it seems like.

Mass hysteria that has been perpetuated by the media. No one denies the seriousness of Covid, but the primary issue is that panic has caused strain on resources that could have been avoided had the narrative been to only get tested if serious symptoms presented.
Every Joe and Jane in society was so freaked out that they had to get tested. It's made the world insane.

We are up to performing 500 tests daily and that is using just one of our 3 platforms. They are killing us with that workload. Just stay home!!!

We got 60 in stock at my community pharmacy yesterday and sold out in 5 hours. The buying mob completely disrupted our workday. I don’t want to carry them anymore because of this.
Need to limit 1 per customer.
I bought one at Walgreens yesterday no problem. : :

Sounds like you’re going to need more testing kits

I agree 100%. It’s heartbreaking there are large cities run by Democrats who have continued their crappy virtual public school programs “in response to Omicron.” Their children haven’t been physically in school since March 2020 so their parents aren’t able to work, or they have to, and their kids are alone all day.
Anyone in medical leadership or government advocating tighter restrictions due to the weaker variants should be ousted.
The consideration of local restrictions should be based on hospitalizations and death, not the number of cases. If the hospital is overrun- it’s their fault because of miserable working conditions like masking for 12 hours and charging more for employees’ insurance due to their unvaccinated spouse.
Omicron is a blessing. It’s like a passive vaccine and it’s indicative of the end of the COVID pandemic.

if you aren't sick, then why would you ever quarantine? If you want to quarantine when you aren't sick, then you might as well stay your stupid arse at home at all times and just quit going out into public for the rest of your life.
Jesus H dude that doesn’t apply to every scenario.
Someone in the office gets sick and tests positive
Everyone is sent home
Work requires a negative test to go back
That’s ONE example where I would have to get tested where I wasn’t sick OR symptomatic, but had to quarantine and obtain a negative test to go back to my office.

i don't know anyone that has to do this, so who are these "lots of people"?
Do you know everyone who was trying to fly last week? Oh you don’t so they just made that all up.
ETA Yes there are people who go get tested just to do it, but most of us here are rational adults who have been living our lives as normal, but still have to jump through some hoops now and then.
Calm your lil nerves.

The home tests are low because Brandon decided to buy 500 million that he will ship to every home next month once this wave is over. 99% of those people won’t need the test at that time so they will stick it in a drawer.

I, for one, am staying at home, awaiting the winter of illness, death and despair.

Was out getting lunch and noticed up here in Shreveport that there were 20 people standing outside the Urgent Care off of E 70th I would assume were waiting in line to be tested.

FYI if you have Omicron it responds well to things like Mucinex as well.

Sounds like the drive-thru at some of the drug stores here in N.O.
I've used the drive-thru to get prescriptions in the past but no so much now. Each car that takes the test is in line a good 15 minutes or more to complete the process.
The last time I got in the drive-thru at the local CVS was 2 weeks ago since they only had 1 van at the window. While waiting, a guy got out of the van and came to my truck to inform me there were 6 of them who were getting ready to take the COVID test so they could catch a flight out of the country.
I backed out, went inside, went straight to the counter and got my RX's.

quote:Honest question: are companies doing this to avoid liability? Sending an entire office staff home for the chance that some employees MIGHT catch a MILD virus at this point from a coworker seems like overkill unless they are trying to cover their asses in the odd event that someone got a bad case and tried to sue. If this is based on CDC guidance, CDC should update recommendations. Someone testing positive for covid should not trigger an office shutdown IMO.

My office did early on when people started coming back. Not the protocol now.

If we just continue with this stupid arse charade, it will never end. It is stupid, it always has been.
Most people don't want to challenge it and just jump through some hoops now and then as you said and go on with their "new normal" lives.
Quit conforming to the stupidity.
