The Fabulous Parking Enforcement of NOLA

My apartment in the warehouse district makes us pay to park in the garage there. I'll gladly shell out the money for a gated garage rather than my windows get smashed weekly.
However, I get a call from a collections agency saying I owe $2,220 for unpaid tickets from parking in said parking garage illegally. Cameras took pictures every time I left the garage saying I was not allowed to park there. Total bullshite, I have the statements of payments I paid to the company. The collections agency told me to call the parking company which then told me to call the city of NOLA which then told me to call the parking company back. Nobody in either department seems to want the proof that I have paid monthly to park and just want me to pay them more and more and more.
I don't know the point of this post, I'm just super fricking pissed off. frick this garbage city

I would have an attorney write a demand letter to all parties and it will probably be cleaned up swiftly.

Nola is the worst major city in the south. The folks who grew up there and never escaped think they're the center of culture because they drink and get robbed on Tuesday nights.

1) who owns the garage? City? Parking company/private?
2) who is collections agency working on behalf of?
3) Do you have a parking contract? With whom?
I deal with these things all the time, but I feel like I'm missing something.

Why would the city be issuing parking tickets for a privately owned garage?
I don't think the city is involved here. Need to talk to whomever operates the parking garage... or maybe the company who is leasing you the apartment?

So you pay to park in the garage. But the garage is saying that you do NOT have a parking contract? And are charging you for every time you have parked there?

Is it normal for them to send this to collections before sending you a notice. Or, did you just ignore the other notices until you received the collections letter?
As others stated, not sure how this applies to the City or their Parking Enforcement. Sounds like this is an issue with the management company that maintains the parking garage. May need to verify that your license plate matches the parking contract
