They didn't forget Spider-Man existed. They forgot Peter. I have a feeling Multiverse of Madness changes this.

but would the spell not have worked if Peter just stayed there while Ned and MJ forgot? Did he have to peace out?

What were people saying about it not even making $150M opening weekend?

Well, he did have his mask off.

I also don't think it erased Peter Parker as Spider-Man from SHIELD's databases, just made people forget.

This has to be fleshed out. His records could still exist, just like Spider-Man’s actions, but no one remembers Peter attending

Agreed. I kind of hate that he has to take the GED and shite. That ain’t cutting it for NYU which is where he normally goes in the comics.

Also, I doubt we see MJ and Ned seeing as how they’re in MIT. That’s 200 miles from the city

I thought it was Empire State University. In the movies, it's Columbia.

Just got back from a second showing. I think it’s the best Spider-Man movie even over Into the Spiderverse. Just all of its great. Still got the nitpick about Strange, but if that’s the egg you got to crack to make this fine omelet, then I’m good.

I think its usually ESU.

The way I took it is maybe Peter just left school to separate himself from others. Probably lean into being Spider-Man a bit too much. The next trilogy will likely have him come to terms with needing people in his personal life again, which may bring MJ back into the picture.

I’m looking forward to seeing how they reintroduce and reconnect Peter and Spider-Man to all the remaining and new to be avengers.

I’d leave him out of the Avengers and let him interact with Deadpool and the Fantastic 4 instead.

Both Spider-Man and Tom Holland are too big of a draw to leave him out of the Avengers

I enjoyed the movie and enjoyed a lot of the beats but Marvel Peter definitely caused all this shot to happen and I couldn’t bring it in myself to find much sympathy with him.

Loved seeing McGuire and Garfield though and loved seeing them interact with those who affected their life so much one last time and that right there is why I would encourage people to see this movie.

I mean, he’s a dumb teen, and that’s what dumb teens do. I’m more pissed at Dr Strange over this who should know better and why I was so confident Mephisto was the actual villain since he would oblige Peter with this request. I thought the villains would be more cameos that Mephisto summons to take on Spider-Man, but I’m glad in the end the Goblin was the main villain and proves why he’s Spider-Man’s natural archenemy in the same manner the Joker is to Batman.

Have we discussed if Ned was making his hobgoblin for?

That close up on those weapons on his wall and the sewing machine?

Just got out. Pleasantly surprised. I honestly thought it was getting typical main character Marvel hype. But that was a really enjoyable movie.

I guess I need to rewatch the Andrew Gardield ones because I didn't remember those villains at all. Like nothing.

Zendaya has really grown on me. I think this was definitely her best of the 3 flicks.

The only small complaints were 1) Ned learning how to open up a portal that quickly. That came way too easy given how hard it was for Strange to learn how and 2) The reminiscing scene between the 3 guys. It was necessary, but it dragged on.

Doctor Strange screwed up and he will definitely pay for it but dumb kids or dumb teens is a stupid arse excuse people make all the time that’s an immoral justification for living with no consequences

I absolutely love Garfield’s Spidey. He is probably my favorite portrayal.

I always like Andrew Garfield.

Also, while I don’t necessarily like McGuire all the time, I thought he brought an older gravitas that worked great

That's what I was thinking when it happened. Like dude, just stay there. It's going to be a lot easier to explain the crazy story if the 1st time she see's you is on a broken statue of liberty.

So is it like he didn't even exist? It seems like he still could have been May's nephew/son.

So with them having arguably Spider-Mans two biggest villains in this movie, Goblin and Doc Ock, plus other big villains like Sandman, Electro, and Lizard, do y’all think those are characters they can reintroduce as their own MCU characters? I would argue with you have to with a few of those.
