The United States is the #1 one country in the world for single parent led households. That type of life is untenable for a healthy functional society.
We have decades worth of statistics and census data that shows fatherless children are substantially more likely to commit crimes and be victims of crimes. They also have far less educational and financial achievement than children from nuclear homes.
The building blocks of a country are it's communities and the building blocks of a community are it's families. Thus no families, no country.
We all sit around complaining without offering any solutions. Most of this single parent dilemma is government created.
We need to remove no fault divorce and incentivize married nuclear families more that the measly tax deduction that is given.

I am old enough to remember gov't cheese and butter, etc being given out.
It wouldn't be a bad idea to start that up again to give the lazy folk the incentive to go get a job.

When Trump was first elected they floated out the idea of a food box delivery service for SNAP and the Walmarts, grocery stores etc went ballistic.
SNAP has become corporate Welfare as much as public. I agree though.
My grandma says "beggars can't be choosers"
People on SNAP should definitely have more restrictions or predetermined food selected monthly they can purchase.

Lyndon Baines Johnson's lasting legacy

I recently counseled a young man whose biological father had fathered 11 kids with multiple women. This man was trying to get his life in order but had zero support structure. Its an epidemic.
Removing the earned income credit would help, but you have to incentivize the nuclear family as well. Making the child tax credit only available to married filing jointly might do something - but the child tax credit is not at the top of things that bother me.
If I were dictator for a day:
1. No limit on a dollar for dollar credit for adoption. One reason abortion is so rampant is that it costs $400 when an adoption costs $40,000.
2. Put a dollar limit and a time limit on the amount of welfare that any person can use in their lifetime.
3. Remove the earned income credit in its entirety.
4. Instead of having taxes taken out of your paycheck, you write a check quarterly.
5. Get rid of social security and make it easy for people to invest into retirement accounts. An EasyIRA program of sorts, that has limited, safe conservative choices.
6. No-fault Divorce should have the same shame that bankruptcy once did. It should be difficult, expensive and have far reaching consequences on one's status, employability and such.

Wouldn't be a bad idea.
A government store(s) built in certain areas allowing people to go by food items would be the next solution. Only certain bulk food items an essentials.
Think WWII rationing. Things would be difficult but you'd have food.

#5 voluntary sterilization for cradle to grave government benefits. Sounds horrible, solves a huge portion of our problems in Western Civilization.

Here's one. In order to claim benefits, report to an office for your assignment, if you have no vehicle, you will be picked up by a van (that already picks these people up for other stuff, anyway).
At the end of the day, you receive a check/deposit. Essentially, make it day labor. Cities need litter pickup. Municipal cars need cleaning. Parking decks need cleaning. Offices and bathrooms need cleaning. There are a thousand jobs people can do, at least a few days per week.
In addition to work, they must report to "class" at least once or twice per week to learn a skill. At the very least, they hate it enough to get off the program.
There has to be some birth control aspect of being on assistance. I'm not sure what it is, but it is fricking absurd that people living on the government dime are allowed to continue procreating.
I went to a Food Lion today, and noticed that almost EVERY employee was 70+ years old, including a little old lady collecting carts!! These people can somehow muster the strength to work, but able-bodied folks can't manage to find or keep a job.

Have to get your tubes tied if you need my tax money to take care of your illegitimate baby.

Definitely reverse the bass-ackwards incentives that Uncle Stupid has put into place. Fostering government dependence and incentivizing single parent child raising is a hugely destructive social force that the demprogs love.
They want to break the system.

Some random thoughts on the subject.
I remember when teen pregnancy was so shameful the family sent the girl 'to visit her Aunt in Oklahoma' so the birth could be made and the child put up for adoption. Then the teen girl could return home with no one the wiser. Today, there is no stigma.
I can attest that my dad's presence in the family saved me. We were extremely poor but I learned stoicism from him. Don't whine. Work hard and you'll get by.
If young women today want to get married to a good man lose some weight, don't get tattoos, get a job and present yourself as an equal partner, not a leach.

Disability fraud is a huge, huge part of this and it never gets talked about.

make work requirements for all of it.
Like poster above said, so many jobs that need to be done. They can repaint light posts for all i care.
But youve got to get people off their asses and to earn the tax payers money.

The right wants to constantly "privatize" things.
Getting rid of government cheese and going to food stamps was one of the biggest examples of Privatization there is.
How's that working out?

It came up on Judge Judy in about 100 episodes:
Judy: 'How do you support yourself?'
Young man: 'I'm on disability.'
Judy: 'What does your girlfriend do?'
Young man: 'She's on disability, too.'

Problem is, we’ve created so many outlets to “milk the system” we could spend all day every day trying to “talk about” them all and still not exhaustively cover everything.

JFK then LBJ.
The most Americans in raw numbers and % of the population were on food stamps under Obama.
Once again this is democrat utopia.
