I kinda don't care, I want to see it on the court, but it is encouraging I guess.

This is also a backhanded insult in a way, and truthful, that he has been disconnected and lazy but he is finally in the fold.

I feel like the last couple of quotes we've gotten from him this offseason have been pretty darn honest.

He'll talk up Zion putting in the most work he's seen this offseason, but he'll almost always put a qualifier stating it's really up to Zion to take that next step and we'll see if he actually does it and keeps up the work, or something along those lines.

He doesn't really say he has no doubt about the work Zion will put in, it's always a "we'll see" type comment he says.

Because the time of trying to appease him and his people is gone.

You were worried about re-signing and all that. And small market teams bend over backwards to appease stars.

But Zion has not fulfilled his end of the bargain and his value is at an all time low.

The coddling and appeasing is over. Get with the program or its rebuild time, again.

cool i guess.
I don't put much stock into anything Griff says.
As others have said, show me on the court.

That seems like an overly narrow superlative TBH.

I’m hopeful but how often has he been in our gym period?

Probably not very often in the offseason. He usually trains with his stepfather and whoever is part of their training team and that's away from the team and on his own schedule for the most part.

It's not uncommon for guys to train away from the team facilities with their own people/trainers/players in the offseason and only show up when it's time to report. Zion is no different. Him being in the facilities all offseason for the first time shows that he's finally trusting the team enough to be there the entire time which isn't necessarily a bad thing. It's no coincidence that Nelson isn't in charge anymore and he's finally bought in.

I've seen a lot of tweets and comments about how much he has been in the gym here, since the season ended.

It looks like he has gone full in with doing everything at the facility instead of the stepfather route.

Doesn't matter until he plays a full season.

It probably means he has a better relationship with the training staff too. Wonder how much Nelson being there played into him staying away from the facility during the offseason.

I do think this does matter.

Obviously, like has been repeated a million times, nothing matters if Zion can't play 30 games.

But going from what always seemed like being detached, even former teammates saying exactly that to seemingly buying in and being around more is an important step IMO. Sucks it took this long, but better to be happening now than not happening.

Just being honest Im not sure how much being a father affects these young guys. Ask Ja Morant about being a father and the decisions he made. Regardless I really hope this is the year we see a fully healthy zoned in Zion for a full season.

Being a father as a multi millionaire NBA player isn't the same as your average middle class office worker.

I bet Zion sees the kid once a week and has never changed a diaper or even put the kid to bed.
