They want the photo-op of Trump being processed and possibly cuffed

You don't indict for a misdemeanor. A felony is the only thing you're indicted for

This isn't going to work out like they think it's going to work out.

Or, maybe it is ;)

Trump being arrested will accomplish 2 things:

1. Solidify the Dem base because it’s the one image they’ve wanted to see for 7 years and confidence in Biden has been waning.

2. Solidify the Trump base and make it virtually insurmountable for DeSantis to be the 2024 nominee.

Even if it’s just for a misdemeanor, this is what the Dems need to happen.

Sadly I think some people are vastly overestimating how many independents will choose to support Trump because of this charade.

I think independents will vote for Trump or whoever the Republican candidate due to traditional reasons - kitchen table issues and the answer upon asking themselves whether they and their families are better off or worse than they were four years ago.

Are they going to ask Florida for extradition?

You can rob a 7-11 and be in the street in 30 minutes in NY. What a joke?!

Now let’s employ the same approach to members of congress slush fund for payoffs, all representatives in general that run for any office. On top of this idiocy is the fact that this was not using campaign money because at the time he financed his own campaign so guess what? There is no shot of breaking campaign finance rules. Even if they could prove ( only a partisan group could but illegally) it’s not one that is something to stop a presidential campaign

His lawyer says they'll comply.

quote:

Former President Donald Trump will surrender to face criminal charges if indicted by a Manhattan grand jury, his lawyer said Friday evening.

The lawyer, Joseph Tacopina, spoke on the heels of a report by WNBC that federal, state and local law enforcement agencies are preparing security arrangements for the possibility that Trump will be indicted as early as next week.

“Will follow normal procedures if it gets to that point,” Tacopina told CNBC when asked what Trump would do if that possibility becomes reality.

If this comes to pass, he’ll then just be getting started.

Genius move. Give the democrat base the red meat they so desperately crave and give Trump's base something to rally around in the primaries to help give Biden a layup re-election. And do so with the federal DOJ claiming plausible deniability.

I voted for Trump twice. But I'm over him. He is old and ill tempered.

Do I really have to knee jerk support him like you dudes? His time has come and gone. Unfortunately, he is in a world of shat. Go out and protest for him. Fly to New York and protest for him.
