It's a shame Bill Murray couldn't be in it, but I hope it still shines with a pastel color palette, assembles awkward dialogue in a slow pace with no actual plot, and has lots of xylaphone music.

I’m excited for it. Haven’t LOVED any WA films since GBH but it’s always still an experience.

Honestly I’ve hated every WA film. I don’t get the love.

Typically dislike Wes films, regardless of cast.

But I love Fantastic Mr Fox, and I think I'm one of a few people here who thinks The Life Aquatic is awesome, so I'll hold out hope for being surprised.

I think the Life Aquatic is terrific as well but haven't liked anything else from Anderson.

Aquatic and Mr Fox are the only movies Anderson wrote with Noah Baumbach so that probably has something to do with it and while Aquatic is still hipstery, it's more surreal.

Bottle Rocket is a subdued classic
Rushmore is his best
Tennebaums, fox and isle of dogs are all fantastic

Everything else I’ve been lukewarm on especially the not that good at all life aquatic

Much like Joss Whedon, Wes has a group of actors he likes to utilize in his work. Can't say I'm a fan of everything, but I did really enjoy The Fantastic Mr. Fox & Isle of Dogs.

He has a particular style, no question.

He wasn't always in that style. Bottle Rocket is straight up. Rushmore has some of the theatrical elements (b/c Max is a playwright) without the colors and framing style (that really started with the Royal Tennenbaums)

If you can't enjoy Bottle Rocket or Rushmore, I pity you

100%. These are both incredible movies, and they are the best of his career. Tennenbaums was very good, but it was the start of me losing interest in his films. His Wes style really took form here, and he refined it with each film. I have stopped watching his movies for a while now as they became too boring and pretentious for my liking.

I still like most of them, but Tennenbaums is a demarcation, b/c he took the theatrical style from Rushmore and jazzed it up and started the use of color. After RT, his (live action) movies had a style and he's dedicated to that style above all else.

Moonrise and Grand Budapest came well after RTs and are easily some of his best work.

Grand Budapest is my favorite I think with RTs a very close second. GB is the best blend of his style, writing, and is just a fun fricking movie. It’s tough between those two.

Rushmore has a great argument there too.

Hyped for Asteriod City but I’m actually more excited for his next project, also dropping this year, which reportedly is going to be a bit more dark than his typical work

Honest question, do all those actors just like Wes and want to be in his films?

And do they take the John Candy in Home Alone family discount? Because there is no way this film will make enough money to pay but maybe 2 of those actors normal asking price.

To whom? You and the frog in your pocket?

These grand declarations on message boards as if speaking for the masses always amuse me.

Kicking and Screaming is a sneaky good film. Plus you get to see Mrs Ari Gold naked from the waist up.
