no its not, it was good for the time it was in but its way way down the list of the GOAT sitcom, not even close
it was amusing and sometimes it was even funny but thats about it. when it was on, the competition wasnt very good so by comparision it was the best thing to watch, but that doesnt make it great

I would put Cheers in the top 10, at least for its first five seasons. It went considerably downhill in the latter half of its run.
Also Ted Danson is OK in the lead, but no more than that.

But once Alda took over it went to shite, probably the biggest decline of any great show ever
My choice for GOAT sitcom is The Mary Tyler Moore Show. It kept up the level of quality throughout its entire run. Indeed one of my top 3 episodes, "Mary's Three Husbands", was one of the last shows produced.

I thought we all agreed that King of Queens was the best.

Because the writing was so good. That Baby Norm link proves as such.
Let's face it Seinfeld had some bad seasons... And it wasn't as snappy...just narcissistic dialogue that went on and on in the first few seasons.
All depends what you want out of a half hour.
And Cheers mostly delivered all the time with snappy dialogue... Perfect timing....classic sitcom...it had Woody, Seinfeld had Woody Allen.

Married with Children....fight me.

Frasier is the GOAT, but Cheers is up there, in my top 5-7.

I think Frasier is consistently funnier and quirkier. We watched the episode yesterday where he, Niles, Roz and Martin go on that “celebrity” cruise. “If Maris goes out in that sun she’ll sear like an ahi tuna!”
Cheers is great tho

Yeah Cheers and Frasier to tight race for my top sitcom but Frasier is definitely the best spin-off of all-time imo. At least sitcom wise.
