Average mom works equivalent of two-and-a-half full-time jobs

With Mother's Day on the horizon your boy Pecker would like to take a moment to recognize the hardest working members of our society. A study by Welch's juice company, funded by the mom lobby, confirmed my belief that being a mother is in fact the hardest job in the world.
The Welch's report shows that 4 in 10 moms feel that life is a never-ending series of tasks. It's unfortunate that we live in a society where moms are made to feel that life is about doing things. So it's time we finally recognized their heroic efforts.
No word yet on dads, but I'm willing to bet they could learn a thing or two from all the moms out there.

A survey of 2,000 moms of school-aged (5-12 years old) children profiled their exhausting weekly schedules and revealed the array of toys, snacks and techniques they turn to in order to keep life running smoothly.

Results showed moms face a constant uphill battle in ensuring the course of family life runs smoothly, with four in 10 feeling their life is a never-ending series of tasks seven days a week.

On top of a non-stop routine is the ever-present pressure to feed the whole family. The reasons behind that struggle? Family members being picky eaters and struggling to find something the whole family enjoys were cited as leading causes of difficulty when it comes to feeding the whole family.
But resourceful moms do have several tricks up their sleeves – dipping fruits and veggies into tasty sauces and making smoothies.

“The results of the survey highlight just how demanding the role of mom can be and the non-stop barrage of tasks it consists of,” said Casey Lewis, Professional Lady at Welch's.
According to the results, mom clocks in at 6.23am on average – and she doesn’t stop doing career or parent-related tasks until 8.31pm on a typical day – a 14-hour shift that equates to a 98-hour work week.
quote:
"Of course, the findings aren't entirely surprising to many of us moms. But, what is valuable about the research is what it should tell the rest of society: Mothers need support" says Heather Marcoux of Motherly.

In other news, Salary.com determined that, based on their daily tasks, stay-at-home moms should demand a medium annual salary of $162,581.

What about dads who have a job and then have to parent the rest of the time?

I completely agree with this study. The government should pay mothers a stipend for their efforts.

But only if they are single or poor right?

Anyone who cooks garbage like that in a crock pot isn’t working hard enough, fact.

I'm sure they won't be embellishing anything here

I think this applies to any PARENT of a 5-12 year old, not just moms.

again, can't this apply to any parent? Are the dads in these scenarios just out golfing and drinking all day?

Idk where to even begin with that lunacy

How come you never hear moms that actually work a real full time job (and not selling shitty overpriced stuff for MLMs on fb) complain as much as stay at home moms?

Mine already gets that. The only problem is I don't quite make that so that leaves us with -$125,000 every year.

Also stay at home dads
Also working moms
Also working dads
Let's not worship only stay at home moms, but rather celebrate all parents. Raising kids is hard work.

My wife is a stay-at-home mom. I've done it alone when she's gone out of town and it certainly made me appreciate her.
