The NYC Health Department made the announcement as one New Yorker is dying every three hours from an overdose.

Narcan is known for reversing overdoses.

“No one is spared, even if you think otherwise. If you use drugs, know someone who is using drugs, or might be around drug use, there are simple steps we can take. First, everyone should carry naloxone, get trained to use it and to recognize the signs of overdose," said Health Commissioner Ashwin Vasan.

I would probably go to jail like Seinfeld for violating the good samaritan law before I start rescuing junkies and risk getting stabbed with an HIV needle

Do they have it in pumpkin spice flavor now that we're in Fall?

Good Samaritan laws protect people attempting to render aid (good Samaritans) from liability. They don’t require the general public to be good Samaritans to people who have overdosed.

A Seinfeld set in today's New York City would be interesting to say the least

I was being a bit facetious. I figured my Seinfeld reference made that pretty clear but I still would not risk my safety to save a junkie.

This sounds like a fix for their overcrowding concerns. They should be rejoicing.

You want to make a dent in the drug problem in this country?

Criminalize Narcan.

Jumping off of the high dive face first directly back into the cesspool that it was in the 70s, congratulations to all those lucky people paying $3k/month to live in a broom closet.

Nobody feels sorry for junkies

But what about the 20 year old pre med student just looking to party like millions of other adults have done in their youth and they get fentanyl laced drugs and “boom, dead”

That’s the only shite I personally care about. We have the FDA to protect you when you want to get hammered, so the moral high horse here won’t work

We had a fentynal problem in our school building last year for a bit.

Our nurse was telling me she had to bring a kid back with Narcan once and when they were in her office recovering she asked if they learned their lesson. Students response: "nah i'll probably do it again tomorrow, honestly." Told me all I needed to know
