Pretending that Pomeranian is a service animal? New Texas law means you’ll get fined $1k

September officially kicked off Service Dog Awareness month. Coincidentally, a new Texas House bill has taken effect which raised punishments for those faking their whiskered friend’s capabilities — something a local training company says hurts the cause. HB 4164, which passed both chambers and took effect on September 1, makes the false representation of animals as service animals a crime punishable by $1,000 and up to 30 hours of community service. Both locals and legislators alike are saying the misrepresentation of service dogs has increased challenges for those really in need.

Good I am tired of fat people or people who have no life bringing their fricking dog everywhere.

Emotional support animals should all be banned

I am sure that you can just call your vet, pay a fee and poof, you have an official support animal.
People that take their dogs everywhere need a life.

I have a friend who does this.
Bought a vest on Amazon and takes the dog on planes and hotels all the time.

You know who hates these people with fake support animals the most? People who actually need a support dog to function.

I support this. Be interesting to see how they prove it!

excellent.
now if we’d stop wasting time on that and ban mask mandates state wide, that’d be great.

My wife had this dog. Totally worthless dog, but it followed my wife around everywhere.

I couldn't be friends with someone like this.

My boss does this with his bulldog. That dog takes a piss on that long escalator in the ATL airport every time he goes through there.

In the past month, I was in Home Depot when someone's "service dog" shite in the middle of the store, and a women's dog was rubbing its runny nose all over the vegetables in Krogers.
shite is OOC. You can't tell me you can't survive without your dog for 20 minutes while you shop?

The vest isn't enough to get them on planes for free anymore. Nor is the online certificate you used to be able to pay $50 for.

What kind of documentation can be required of persons travelling with service animals?
Airlines may require:
(1) a U.S. DOT form attesting to the animal’s health, behavior, and training; and
(2) a U.S. DOT form attesting that the animal can either not relieve itself or can relieve itself in a sanitary manner, if the animal will be on a flight that is 8 or more hours.

Austin TX should rake in millions

Fluffy little support animals rate as high as face tattoos on my "stay the hell away from this person" scale.

Southwest charges $95 per flight for your pet to be in the space beneath your feet.
They're rasing that to $125 next month. That's $250 for a round-trip ticket.
Get your dog legally trained and certified and it flies for free.

Good.
Cause there is an actual need for service dogs and they are wonderful when used correctly but dip shites that want to make their house pets service dogs ruin it for people who legit need them
