Not a fan of the new trucks with the massive chin spoilers….do y’all just remove them?

Or does this mess up the engine cooling or the air flow to the radiator?

It’s not just the new Tacoma either.
I can’t imagine these things saving very much fuel at all. Some of them look like they’d be damaged if you parked too close to a curb.

When the covers were lifted from the new 2024 Toyota Tacoma, it was hard not to let your eyes wander south of the pickup's bold new schnoz, specifically down to the vast fence of plastic reaching toward the ground from beneath the front bumper. Behold, the new Tacoma's Hoover Dam-sized air dam
According to the folks in charge of building the Japanese automaker's latest midsize pickup, from a design standpoint, nobody was too thrilled with the plastic bib up front. So why is it there?
Compliance with increasingly stringent fuel economy standards is why. And lifted, wide-track, box-nosed pickup trucks can, as you'd expect, present some challenges when it comes to maximizing fuel efficiency.

It’s for scraping on the parking lot curb stops when you pull up too far. Duhhhh.

I took it off of my truck. No noticeable effect on fuel economy.

What kind of OT beta doesn't have their truck lifted?

It looks like they don't plan on selling any of these trucks in the states that get snow. Who would want that on their truck?

yeah, a plastic skid plate

I think they are strictly cosmetic. I kind of like them, but you'd be good removing it if you don't. Be careful though, because it'll drop the value of your truck from 90K to 30K with the quickness.

I don't care enough about the looks of my vehicle to do anything about it.

Who doesn’t want a $70k 4x4 truck that loses parts in a Kroger parking lot?
Sometimes I think these car designers are really foolish.

Lower spec wranglers come with something of a similar function between the bumper and fender.

Just keep it and put it back on when you sell. Easy peazy

I just lifted my 2022 F250 and put 37’s on it and I’m replacing mine with either a tremor or 2wd one. They are both way smaller than the 4x4.

It’s probably a $2500 accessory

I've never noticed an issue with the one on my F150. I am in pure suburban and urban parking with tons of curbs, parking stops, etc.. 110k miles and never had an issue.

Lowered in the back of course.

Removed mine as soon as I got it home.

Blame our ever intrusive government & climate change nuts for this....

It's supposed to mimic a splitter and it's cosmetic in this case. They were designed to function during high speeds.

It’s ugly as hell. And it’s why even the off road version of the Tundra doesn’t have recovery hooks.
