How does it feel? Why did you guys as a couple agree to this? My soon to be wife proposed the idea saying childcare is expensive and that I might as well stay home and I’m not sure if I’m fond of that idea

House better be spotless… otherwise god I can’t imagine the bitching of “ I worked all day and come home to a filthy house blah blah blah “

I would love to be a stay at home dad. Not have to deal with corporate stress and get to spend quality time with the kids while also being able to do more hobbies seems like a win on all angles. One could only be so fortunate that their wife is the monetary bread winner

Not a knock on you. But staying home to save money is not the kind of stay at home husband/dad I want to be.

I would freakin LOVE to be a stay at home husband. If my wife made enough it’s be the easiest decision to make.

Just don’t start dressing up like your wife.

My golf partner and his wife made this decision about a year ago. He's fricking miserable, don't do it.

I was between jobs last year. For 2 weeks it was glorious. A little house and yard work in the morning. Golf and errands on my schedule in the afternoons. Took a short trip.

Some say they’d get bored but I didn’t see it. Wife liked all the things getting checked off our list, too.

If my wife made enough for me to stay at home I'd do it in a heartbeat

I don’t know how a man could do it for more than a short time period. I’d be bored out of my damn mind.

We have this gumbo guy that's a stay at home dad.

He makes over $3k per day
Posts babe pics on TD all day long because his home sex life is so good.
Doesn't have enough time to teach his kid to ride a bike though.

That's what you have to look forward to

I did it back in 2001 when it was not as much a thing. We decided we did not want other people raising our kids. One of the hardest decisions I ever made as it was tough to walk away from my career that I had worked so hard for. Took me a couple of years to get over it and the stigma of being the stay at home dad. However, it allowed my wife to prosper in her career and made the several moves that we would make easier. I am 54 now, she is killing it in her career, and my kids are amazing adults doing amazing things. Now I feel incredibly blessed and do not regret it for a second.
