The ones who drive with their flashers on or the ones who drive with their brights on? I am going with the ones who drive with their flashers on. Just seems illogical to me

the ones who don't adjust their driving to the conditions.

Some idiot with flasher on doesn't affect my ability to see. Some a-hole with their brights on does. They are both assholes, but the one with the brights on is the bigger one.

Do your adjusting in the right lane.
If you’re scared to drive in the rain then maybe just stay home. There’s no reason to go 40mph when it’s raining a little.

Uh, you're supposed to drive with your flashers so you can let the other drivers know it's raining. It's common courtesy.

This. People from Dallas love to brag how fast they drive in the rain like it's some competition.

Unless it's an absolute monsoon you don't need to do anything different. The brake happy retards that slow down to 15 mph under the speed limit and slam their brakes anytime they see a light are the ones creating the problems/wrecks.

If you are scared to drive in the rain just wait it out

same in Houston. however, it is equally annoying when someone slows down to thirty miles an hour on the highway when conditions warrant maybe slowing down to sixty.

and for anyone that puts their hazards on during a rain storm....FUUUUUUUUUCK YOUUUUUUUU

The ones that drive like the usual idiots 15 and 20 mph over the speed limit which ironically leads to people driving with their hazards on because they would prefer not ot be killed from some idiot from the previously mentioned category.

I realize that this makes you feel superior and cool, but do you disagree that driving relatively normally in the rain is bad or dumb or dangerous?

I'm not advocating that people drive 20 MPH over the speed limit or anything like that, but the people who slow down to half the speed limit are much more of a hazard to others IMO. You can drive fairly normally unless the weather is downright overbearing (i.e. it's raining so hard you absolutely can't see).

i'm neither but, i know that stopping, turning etc... is different on a wet road than it is on a dry road.

we will likely see the results of not adjusting in the traffic reports later today.

it affects your ability to know when they're about to brake or turn though, which is kind of a big deal

It's amazing this needs to be explained.

It's like no one has ever walked on a wet surface before and felt their shoe, even a rubbed soled tennis shoe, slip a bit if you move too fast or turn quickly.

Add to the fact that most of us live in Louisiana, which means most of our roads have ruts in them collecting water so hydroplaning is par for the course even after a little rain.

This is one of the biggest things that's difficult to try and pass on to a young driver. With both of my sons I've made a point of showing them where cars tend to hydroplane near where we live after it rains and I'm never disappointed because almost every time I show them when it's wet some a-hole plows into standing water and you can see the car dive into it and they have to react and try not to get pulled off the road.

No one is suggesting slowing down to a crawl, but to act like a wet road is the same as a dry one defies physics.
