Let’s hope for a victory. Is a TD reporter in the courtroom?

TD really should have one or two paid reporters on staff.

In court for what? Is this the appeal?

Not against it but sad thing is it won't fix anything and it will likely make things worse when you start splitting up the pot of money.

I disagree.

Mostly because:

The splitting money issue will be bad for both at first.

Then, as St. George starts to get its act together, you will likely see some improvements in St. George with better leadership.

Then, Baton Rouge will get worse, especially if businesses start to leave the city. The bad areas will grow until it takes over previously good neighborhoods.

Then Baton Rouge will become the new Jackson, MS.

If this would have worked out when they first tried it, I think we'd be in a completely different spot today in EBR.

The city of Baton Rouge fricked it all up though, and now I think it might kick the complete collapse of the parish down the road maybe another 10 years but it still will ultimately fall apart.

Simple solution would have been for the 1st Circuit to stream their proceedings like the Louisiana Supreme Court.

Not for those who get a more responsible government.

This happened long ago. Ask anyone that lived in BR 40 years ago. Hell, anyone that lived in Sherwood area 25 years ago.

Question for the legal experts of the OT. Given the way the St. George petitioners have been treated.. How has this not become a federal issue? The vote passed 4 years ago FFS

EBR voters need to hold their elected officials accountable. We do not.

EBR is flush with cash, and spending is through the yet; nevertheless, crime, drainage, trash, and homeless issues abound.

Our parish had plenty of revenue, we have millions in federal grants, we have and two major road taxes were passed.

Are we getting what we pay for?

Can anyone give a summary of where things stand today?

I'm not impacted by this and I've followed it at a distance, but I'm not caught up on it. I know it passed and there was a lawsuit, so where is it now?
