Are Australian shepherds the second worst city dogs?

Breed of peace being the first. I live in apartments in Dallas and it seems that Aussie shepherds are the new breed everyone wants to pick up.
These dogs are not made to be indoors in small spaces all day, and every one I've seen in town is a nutjob that tries to attack other dogs on sight. They're supposed to be out in the countryside herding animals.

Blue Heelers are much cooler.

Nope, it is whatever breed causes people to put this stupid shite on their vehicle

My favorite breed of dog. However, they also need space and a job to do. They are not suited for city/apartment life.

Most people really don't consider those things when getting dogs. I'm looking at getting a chocolate lab puppy, but have held off because I only have a half acre lot and am not in a position to get him/her out in the woods and water more than once or twice a year. I do work from home, so there would be companionship.
I'm going to end up letting the wife get a fricking pug at this point.

Back when I lived in the "city," I had a dachshund.
She was an amazing dog, smart as any breed out there.
Easy to get people to take her if I needed to travel
She could fit in a bag under my seat instead of in cargo if traveling.
I highly endorse weenie dogs as the pet of choice.
We have aussies now and I can't disagree, they'd be terrible city dogs. We don't even use them enough here on an average day. My dad has 2 border collies that are legit cattle dogs, they are freaking amazing. My dogs are really good at fetching, that's about it...

My Australian shepherd doesn’t even know how to bark and has never been aggressive towards anything like ever. I don’t like in an apartment but I don’t have some huge lot for it.

Yep, they aren't apartment dogs unless you're getting them a couple hours exercise a day.
Dumbasses and their fads. It was Frenchies a few years ago.

Yup, I know someone who had to have a dog and bought a German Shepherd for $1500 to live in her 200 sq ft apartment while she was gone for 12+ hours every day. The stench from the shite and piss was gag-inducing.

Lived next door to a guy who had a breeding pair of Australian Shepherds when I was a kid. Came home from HS one day and could hear the wife next door yelling for help. Brother and I ran next door to find her on top of the picnic table. Dogs had treed her. The female Shepherd was batshit crazy.

We adopted a blue heeler mix (she’s almost 10 now which makes me sad)
I am really hoping Bluey doesn’t turn them into “designer” dogs because while they are great pets, you really need to understand what you are getting into when you buy a working breed type of dog.
They need tons of physical and mental stimulation or they will go crazy. They are super protective and loyal (to a fault in terms of family/city life) and they will try to “herd” anything that moves including kids
Pros are they are super smart, loyal, protective, not fluffy shedders, nice medium size (but tough so kids can’t hurt them) and great if you want an active dog for your family
As great as she’s been I’m still not even sure if I want another one, it was tough first 5 years keeping her engaged and happy and we have a big house with .75 acre yard and try to go on multiple walks a day. They need to RUN and want a job to do. She’s settled down a bit in the last few years but still needs to get out and run through her tricks to keep her happy

Shepards are high energy dogs and they need like be constantly doing something stimulating.

GSDs were the fad a few years ago, I think Frenchies overtook them.
Mainly women who need a trendy pet.

I've heard that greyhounds are basically couch potatoes.

I live in a typical suburban neighborhood with smaller yards, and I'm kinda amazed at the amount of my neighbors that have big high energy dogs. It seems a terrible life to make a Shepherd or any high energy dog live in a neighborhood or apartment.

People who keep any large breed indoors is a POS

I've never seen a aussie attacking other breeds...playful yes

She had to give it up because it had a lot of health issues but now she has a Sheepadoodle that stays at her parent's house more than her own.

I’ve been looking for a border collie to work cattle with. Any chance he might know of something available?
