Witnessed carjacking in NOLA

Saw the craziest and most terrifying thing I have ever seen.
Visiting New Orleans on a friend trip. While we were walking down St. Peters, around Poydras Street. We start hearing screaming, screeching tires, etc. It gets louder and as we start to cross the street a car is speeding through with a women hanging on for dear life off the front hood. Screaming help me, help me.
I was in shock and wondering is this real, wtf just happened. Then the driver floors it, jerking the wheel hard to fling her off.
Realized what was going on, friend called 911. Went down the street and somehow she got off and he bailed and got arrested. Didn't see that part, but saw her down the street talking to police.
Crazy arse shite. I don't think I will unsee the look in that women's face anytime soon.
Edit.. arrested I mean handcuffed and surrounded by police.

Jesus dude, I'm sorry you had to witness that. You're gonna get a whole bunch of bullshite, but seeing violent crimes play out is damn traumatic.

I saw a guy get murdered in Key West, FL when I was about 13. Still remember it. Car pulled up about 50 yards from me and my dad, popped the guy about 5 times and peeled out.

St. Peter’s and Poydras don’t intersect. They run parallel and are several blocks apart.

I’m not being an arse, but how do you know it was a carjacking and not a domestic or something? You didn’t describe the typical carjacking scenario. I mean, why was the woman on the hood?
