University of Louisiana at Lafayette to the PAC?

If Colorado leaves, you can bet Utah and the Az schools might follow suit.
A new PAC12 will be massively different. That being said, does Louisiana and or Louisiana Tech have a chance?

Interesting thought. Maybe. Definitely could make the Big12 if it gets further pillaged.

Who cares what happens to those second class citizens?

They’d be a damn good fit in the Big12 but I think the new Big12 is full and it’s not getting pillaged again.
Louisiana playing teams like Cal Stanford Washington Oregon etc would be interesting. It would also give those PNW programs exposure in SEC country.

Such a dumb point to try to make

Not if Louisiana Tech and McNeese beat them their first!

Why is it dumb for Oregon State Washington state and Oregon and Washington to want a their brands in SEC country?
Granted it’s not full on exposure like playing LSU but it’s a foot in the door and it would piss off the SEC big12 and American conferences big time.

Uhhhh………100% NO CHANCE…. in hell would PAC invite a SBC or CUSA school from Louisiana. Lol
First, Tech & ULL don’t remotely come close to their academic standards & ATHLETIC BUDGET requirements.

I think the question becomes more of does the AAC backfill with these two after SMU, Rice, and Tulane go to the PAC.
Posted on 6/1/23 at 11:38 am to turnpiketiger
Rice and Tulane would be the smaller schools who could potentially get the call.
Obviously SMU as well

That conference is DEAD

I would think that Tulane would be more likely than ULL.
I would think Boise, SDSU, Fresno, Colorado State, SMU, UNLV

As a publically funded university, Louisiana would have as many books tossed at them as possible by the LSU backers in the state legislature to prevent any upward moves.
Tulane is really the best hope a major conference has at putting a foot into the state.

Neither of those schools have the budget to join the pac. The travel alone would be detrimental and the academic requirements to steep

The Pac 12 is going to dissolve or become the Mountain West.
The Big 12 is actually in a good spot. If they add the Arizona schools, Colorado, a couple more American Conference teams, they could be a rock solid league with a pretty good TV deal and a bunch of teams that the SEC and Big Ten don't really want. They would be safe from the next round of conference realignment.
Kansas is the only team in the Big 12 I can think of that might be of interest to the SEC or Big Ten.

No, but I would love to see ULL fans make a case for it here.

What? Nooooo. I was told by a few posters here that this is all a conspiracy. They would never!

shite. The Sun Belt doesn’t even want Tech, but you think the PAC 12 would?

We officially accept the invitation to the PAC Whatever.

That’d be a great move if the PAC is looking to further degrade its brand.
The only rivalry that could compare to ULL playing Cal-Berkeley every year was the UConn / UCF Civil Rivalry. Just pure generational hatred.
