They would never. Bud Adams left Houston behind with pure hatred in his heart. It was probably in his will that the Titans could never give the Oilers trademark to anyone for any price whatsoever.

What’s the whole story? I know it was a messy divorce and he eventually got the team to TN. Did Houston sue him like Cleveland/Browns with Modell?
