The SEC has 8 teams projected to make the NCAA field, 9th in Florida that has a 1st round draft pick, and a 10th in Ole Miss that may have the best coach in the country

It's a long season you know and this is just one game. The fact that we finally started playing better and came from so far back is a positive. Make better decisions and we will win a lot of games.

It is really early, and weird upsets are not uncommon in the early season. But there isn’t much to look at to provide hope of a turnaround.

Even with a 40+ point win on Monday I left that game concerned with LSU lack of overall athleticism. When combined with the general lack of energy from the top down I don’t know what you hang your hat on in thinking much better play is coming.

I sat through the Trent Johnson era. I’m afraid I’m seeing too many parallels. And I REALLY want to be wrong

Am I happy with the way we played. No, of course not, I was screaming and cursing the entire first half. But I just refuse to get down on a team after only two games. I'm a die hard LSU basketball fan for many years which means I have seen them up and seen them down. I was at LSU when Pete was there. Didn't win any championships then but boy was it fun to watch.
Why am I even a little optimistic? Well, number one I don't think we can play much worse or make so many mental mistakes or have so much trouble hanging on to the ball. We shot terrible from three but I think we are better than that. Baker had a poor game but will spring back. The guards need to do a better job of throwing him lobs the lane so that only he can catch it. I still see talent out there but it needs to learn to play together and share the ball more. Everything needs to be faster and more crisp, from passing, to driving the lane.

There is a bit of a difference....

The women opened their season on a neutral court vs a top 20 team who made the sweet 16 last season (who returned their entire starting lineup) while LSU trying to replace 3 starters

The men.... lost at home to Nicholls.... Nicholls.... and were down by 24 point at one point in the first half. I mean these comparisons aren't even close...


Had CMM had a solid year one people would be willing to let this slide and give him the benefit of the doubt. Given how disastrous they were last year finishing dead last in the SEC. No he isn't going to be given the benefit of the doubt. This is embarrassing.
