I feel like our offense is electric. It also seems to sputter at times. Is this our own doing or is there a certain thing that defenses need to beat us and only a few have it? Is it their db’s, their line, etc. What is our bad match up?

Its tough to tell. Even the fsu game against an elite dline, the game was there for daniels to make plays. Brian Thomas slant for a td, little better throw to Thomas deep, and lacy not dropping 3 catches change the whole game. Seems like it's going to be tough to stop our passing attack, especially if Taylor comes back healthy soon.

Not real sure. The only team we sputtered against was FSU and that was due largely to dropped passes and a slip and fall.

Aggressive defensive front and physical man press corners. Make the windows tight and JD5 won’t throw it.

I think this is definitely part of it. If we see that again why don’t we just take more shots. If anything loosen them up more. I think once we get to our own 40 take some shots. Let Daniels step and run if they drop too far or come at us hard from the edges. I guess we just have to take that. Seems like we move the ball best then but he has to take the shots whether we get them or not.

I would say a team with a great dline and an aggressive DC that sends blitzes...of course that is most teams kryptonite

Outside of the FSU second half have we seen the offense sputter? I guess the only time I’ve seen it is when Nuss is in

I think we will live and die on whether Daniels has the confidence to pull the trigger.

but also I think we have some question marks on the right side of the line.

I would say our run game. We have some capable backs, but I haven’t really seen them do anything to really make a difference in a game. Hopefully Logan Diggs will have a big game. Granted, our passing was so good that the run game didn’t matter, but it will need to be at least respectable. And Daniels can’t always have the most rushing yards. Has to come from the backs.

ETA: A lot of that has a lot to do with the right side of the OL. Can’t always run it left.

Press coverage where our receivers cannot break very open. JD will not throw the ball in those cases.

LSU's offense presents alot of problems for defenses.
#1 is Jayden's ability to run limits the defenses ability to play man coverage across the board. Combine that with the RPOs that Denbrock runs where a TE or WR cross the formation and it's really difficult to play man on anybody inside or near the box. The biggest equalizer that can hurt us is a great pass rush. Jayden likes to hold the ball sometimes so if you have a great pass rush you can get us off schedule. We desperately need a 3rd WR to step up and dominate his matchup. Nabors, BT3, and MT have proven they have to be respected and if Hilton or Lacy can figure it out we could add another major element to this offense. Just like in 2019 when defenses keyed on JJ and Chase we'd go to Marshall. You can't double cover everybody.

Blocking for the running game is still weak.

When they stack the box.

The defense works against the stacked box when one of the following happens:

1. JD does not recognize a stacked box...cover one or zero are dead giveaways.
2. Choose wrong and run against a stacked box...success rate is low.
3. Choose correctly and JD throws deep to the WR drops it or is well defended by the safety.

The offense is successful against the stacked box when one following happens:

1. The OL overpowers the defense and can get a push.
2. JD recognizes the stack box and throws mid to deep to the WR usually being guarded by the safety. Success rate is high. JD demonstrated this against MSU last week all game long.

Fast blitzing and quickly developing pressure really speeds the game up for JD and he becomes hesitant and indecisive.
Inability to develop a consistency in the run game. We need to pick a horse to ride when it comes to a RB. I feel like we can’t get the hot hand going.

The offensive line still struggles getting a consistent push in the run game

Daniels doesn't make quick decisions, so defenses that can get to him quickly will wreck the pass offense because I haven't seen the coaches or daniels be able to adjust. He can still brrak contain and make things happen on those plays, but passing largely goes out the window.
