CBK and LSU better figure out how to be competitive with NIL when it come to recruiting. Florida State has 4 players getting more NIL money than LSU’s top player. This ain’t the Les Miles recruiting days where you could sell them on the program or past great players at positions. Money talks now, and everthing else …….

There’s new recruiting tactics that weren’t available before tho too, and BK has to use them to his advantage.

Keeping up with the in state players they lose out on solely bc of money & keeping the door open for them to transfer back home after a year away is now on the table and wasn’t before NIL (*Not being immediately eligible in pre NIL era was a big deterrent to transferring)

Well you donate your hard earned money to some stupid little prick then so he will give his commit and then quit playing in the second half. NIL should be performance based

I had a question last week that no one addressed. But .. Someone is going to go big for the #1 recruit in the 25 class, QB Underwood and another top QB in McIntyre. Can, will, Kelly go big or what? QB changes a team. Look at Auburn with Newton, LSU/Burrow, FSU/Winston. Great QBs put you in a position to win championships.

Can LSU keep up with the big spenders in Football?

Lsu did very well strategically spending NIL and using the transfer portal for baseball. But baseball was also successful because of talent development in the program.

Seems it will be tough for FB without the big donor and big business support that other places have. To keep up Lsu FB will need to be strategic and also develop within the program.

I agree NIL should be performance and commitment based and not based on talent. 5 stars usually perform up to their rankings but not all do. A place like LSU with less of a budget could get stuck in a bad spot if they pay for a few 4 or 5 stars that don't work out.

Dont know where you heard this because it isn't true

And if FSU were spending so much money how come they couldn't sign better than the 18th ranked HS recruiting class the last few years

False

But FSU is the least of our worries (with NIL)

Aggie, Texas, UGA, Bama are all spending $$

Having trouble linking. It’s the top 100 NIL athletes on On3. The updated listed has 4 making more than Malik.

There is pretty much no measureable way outside of estimates to actually reflect those true numbers.

How would On3 know what LSU players are making when Louisiana law prohibits those numbers from being publicly released?

I don’t think it’s an NIL issue.

They are not currently recruiting at a high level either. But they have done very well in the transfer portal.

Texas and Texas A&M have yet to see a payoff with doing so. Neither have come close to a playoff in the last decade. Bama and UGA are the biggest concerns in the SEC with NIL and recruiting.

For the 100th time. LSU has as much or more money to spend than all but 4 or 5 schools. There is a philosophical decision that’s been made to not get into bidding wars for players as the coach doesn’t want that being the main driver a player chooses to come to LSU.
