He’s waiting for Herbert to sign his big contract, no doubt

I would get every penny possible
It's a business and he needs to get whatever he can get

If you think your QB is your guy sign them.
In 4 years their contract will seem like a steal.
Cap will keep going up

No one could’ve seen this coming back in 2018. Joey has had an astronomical rise over the past 5 years to become the best player in football

Couldn't be happier for him & his family. LSU was blessed to have him here for 2 years!

He definitely wants to make as much money as possible, but there may be other considerations than just how much he is paid by his team. If structuring the contract in a way that helps his team keep good (and expensive) players around him helps him win Super Bowls, that may make him more money in the long run than just squeezing every possible penney out of his team.

Absolutely what he should do and I'm very happen for him. I hope they're also able to keep chase and a strong Oline around him

Jamar said that what makes JB so great is he wants to do what he can to keep the team he has around him. He will no doubt structure it that way but will still get paid. $52 mil a year. $48 mil a year. Does it really matter as long as your happy and winning?

A tad surprising as I thought we were hearing that he was going to not take such a big salary so the Bengals could use that money to keep the rest of the team happy and get better players in key positions.

Professional sports salaries are out of control lunacy. Particularly football where actual playing time is minimal on the game clock.

Does the players union require that you try to get paid the most you can? Could a player decided to make less so that more is available for other players? I know you can offset and increase your guaranteed. Just wondered if you can just decided to make 10 million less of something.

The players created that Billion Dollar TV contract. Why not get a peice of the pie.

As he should be. Then the next QB contact will be for more. So it goes.

Next big time Qb. Joey is different

Get him & Chase & the other WR signed then spend the next 2-3-4 drafts signing elite OL to take care of their investment.
