They ought to make this a physics question in HS. If Tommy Tanks gets pissed off and hits a ball at 21 degrees at 106 mph , how bad will the scoreboard be damaged when the ball’s velocity is 0 mph ?

Pretty tough HS problem involving velocity, mass, kinetic energy & scoreboard material toughness.

More of a college dynamics problem.

With a 21 degree launch angle to travel 427 feet the apex would have to be about 83 feet (and that’s assuming no slowing of the horizontal velocity throughout the ball’s flight).

I’m guessing because of that angle, when I first saw the ball hit I thought for sure that ball was a line out to the left fielder.

Nope that ball went over the bleachers. Insane

So Trackman is wrong. Which now questions a lot of things it is measuring. The exit velo would have had to be more or the distance shorter.
