Did the fact that the National Championship game being played in New Orleans give the 2019 Tigers some extra motivation? I like to think it does. It mattered to the Louisiana guys on the Team and big time to O

Who cares? That team was beating anyone, anywhere, anytime.

The run that LSU went on in that game against the #1 defense in college football tells you everything you need to know about that team

They weren't going to lose on any neutral field and probably would have beat Clemson in a true away game that year

I think it made things easer logistically but that game could have been been played on the moon and the outcome would have been the same.

Being the better team by a long shot factored more.

It didn’t help in the previous NC. Thanks Miles.

Of all the natties LSU played for in the Superdome (03, 07, 11, 19), location mattered least to 2019. If not for a few early series where LSU started pinned back close to their own goal, that game could have gotten really out of hand.

Ironically, I think LSU would probably have done better in 11 somewhere other than Nola.

It didn't matter where that game was played we were going to be ready to kick some arse, that team was just built different.

They somehow managed to get by UGA in Atlanta in the SEC championship game.

Definitely had more of an influence in 2003

2019 team beats anyone anywhere

It didn’t really matter at all in 2011

There are always some smart asses that come in threads with who cares etc. why open a thread when the title clearly indicates what will be discussed when you done care about the topic.
Back to the topic. I don’t think it mattered in 2019. I don’t know if we win in 2003 if not in NOLA

I don’t think Joe’s ball would have the same zip on the moon.

Agreed. I think it helped the ‘03 natty team the most. That was like a home game that night.

If anything, erasing the stain of 2011 was more of a factor than playing at “home.”
