Coming in from GA and never been to a game at the Superdome.
Do you have to buy a parking pass or are there public parking garages?
Thanks

You can find private garage and public parking lots all around the Superdome click here to see rates
As a first-timer, I'd arrive early enough to park under the Superdome as rates will be around $40.
Multiple levels as most are under the dome and out of the weather - see pic below.
Others will chime in once they see this thread
if staying overnight near downtown or Quarter, you can walk since most hotels are approx. 1 mile from the Dome

So happy to have you come to Nola for an LSU game. I can only assume you're a Tiger. Under that assumption, I recommend most parking garages south of Poydras Street from the SuperDome to the River. 24 hour parking is always an option. Some better than others in terms of price, but generally all the same. In that area, tons of bars and hotels waiting to serve you and your Krewe(our term) on the way to the Dome. If you're staying somewhere else, besides quarter or CBD, you shouldn't have a problem with Street parking.

Superdome garage opens at 1 PM on gameday FYI.

Never, Never, Never park in the street in New Orleans around the CBD . The meter maids and the tow Krewe (your term) will be out in full force. Pay for the off street parking and you will be safe from them. They will lie about where you are parked in order to ticket or tow your car.

If I were you, I’d try to park in the Superdome parking garage and avoid surface parking lots. New Orleans has a huge problem with little a holes bashing in windows on vehicles looking for guns and valuables. I have friends who have had this happen at Saints and Pelicans games.

ParkWhiz.com has dome parking for 27$ right now. Find the gate you’ll need for your section and try to pick the garage that corresponds with that gate. I’ll post these maps below that should help you with that.

Agreed generally, although the game is on Sunday so meters will be turned off. Will have to make sure the car is out by Monday morning though (although you may not have to pay on the holiday either)
I would go on parking panda or one of those similar sites and reserve a spot in a garage. It'll be your best best. Parking anywhere in the warehouse district (tons of garages) will make for an easy walk and there are tons of restaurants and bars along the way.

Don't prepay for the parking because it is quite likely you will be carjacked on the way to the Dome. After the game you can just carjack someone else and use that car to get home. The good news is you save the $40 on parking.

If a little extra money brings extra safety park in Superdome. Good chance you will still have windows.

Just grabbed my parking space in the Dome.

Best thing would be to just walk from the hotel. Assuming you’re staying at a hotel.
The great about the superdome is that it’s walking distance from almost anywhere downtown

I am a Saints season ticket holder of 20 years. I'd advise against parking in the Dome. It's over priced and a pain to get out of.
There is a garage on the corner of Howard Ave. and O'Keefe. I have been parking there for years. You have to walk a little (Maybe a 5-10 minute walk), but it's very easy to get in and out after a game. No sitting in traffic forever. It's also much cheaper.
