How sure are we that Auburn moves to the East? I can not see the Bama - UT game ending. Are we going to a 9 game schedule?

nothing has happened yet - if the SEC stands pat at 14 then MU might just go to the East (and there is no certainty the SEC is stopping at 14)

not at all.

something's got to give and these traditional rivalries are the easy answer

there is a lot left to be hashed out before scheduling can be determined

If Oklahoma and OK State decide to tuck their tails and bail, then you could be looking at Bama and Auburn both going to the east.

The next month or so is going to be very interesting. Another scenario would be Mizzou talking to the B1G.

OU and Okie State will remain in the Big 12-2-2.

Mizzou to the east...then no cross division rivalries are affected.

You would play six division games and two out-of-division games.

One thing they could do is get rid of the fixed opponent for any team that doesnt have a traditional cross division rival.

Bama could still play Tennessee and auburn could still play Georgia. And then they would rotate their second game.

However, other teams like LSU could rotate both of their cross division games.

There is no downside to adding Mizzou to the East...other than that they'll travel a measly 90 miles more per trip to play division opponents.

When you're talking about flying, thats nothing.

Shift Auburn to the East and maintain the 8 game conf schedule.

Let Bama play UT and Auburn as permanent East opponents.

The remaining West teams rotate East teams with no permanent opponent.

If the Tide have a problem with this, I'm sure the SEC is more than willing to have them rotate East teams like the rest of the conference.

Mizzou to the East actually makes sense if you look at the map here

I'm actually starting to be more in favor of them joining actually.

Bama & Auburn to the East. Mizzou & Vandy to the West. All traditional rivalries preserved.

I don't see this happening, but if you're trying to ruin the lives of all LSU fans, this would do it. Hell, we might as well join the freakin' ACC. We would have a much easier road to Atlanta, but to only have MSU and Ole Miss from the traditional SEC in our division would completely suck!

That map looks like Vandy should go west, while Bama AND Auburn should move east. Solves all rivalry problems, im sure the west would be ok with it.

You're complaining about this? If we get rid of Bama and Auburn, LSU will win the West every year - what's wrong with that?

Hell, my own family doesn't pay that much attention to what I say/write. I guess that's why I'm on TD.

It`s absolutely dumbfounding to me how so many people could care less if traditional SEC matchups are s### all over just to accomodate 1 new member. LSU fans do realize they lose both the Auburn and Alabama games if both teams move East in a 16 team conference don`t you? I STILL.........don`t understand why some people are hellbent on shuffling the divisions around when Mizzou can be put in the East and all games can be preserve. Alabama and Auburn can keep both Tennessee and Georgia respectively as their permanents while the other 10 SEC schools can choose a new permanent opponent. Go to a 9 game SEC schedule.

Put Missery in the East. Make them cross divisional rivals with either Arky or TAMU

OR, put Missery in the West and Move Kentucky to the West and move BAMA / Auburn to the East. It would make the East an overly competitive division but it would not be a whole lot different than the west as it currently stands.
