Would that shatter the record for highest buyout ever?

Who has that record btw?

Personally I think he’s going nowhere even if he loses the iron bowl.

That’s what I thought but I’m hearing a lot of people want him out.

A quick google search said Willie Taggart has been paid the largest buyout at $18M by Florida State.

People have wanted him gone for years. They have had the hardest schedule in the country and been in most of the games. They remind me of LSU under Miles. Great Defense that is wasted with a bad offense

No, I don’t.

Are you saying Auburn will pay $26M to send Gus away?

Yes. Logical thinking will play no factor.

I understand their frustration, particularly having to watch their most hated rival have such great success, but even with Alabama being so dominant, Gus has been a big part in getting them to two NC games what should/could have been a playoff spot in 2017.

Next year the schedule is a bit more favorable. They drop Oregon for UNC and Florida for UK. They close with maybe the most brutal two game stetch of any team in the nation (back to back vs. LSU and @ Bama), but it is very possible both of those teams will be "down" simply because they are losing great QB's

And Nix will have a full year of SEC experience.

Auburn does lose those two talented D players I think.

Will they have to pay him the buyout if he gets hired by another team? Or just the difference between the buyout and what Arkansas pays him per year?

No. I'm hoping Arky steals him.

Gus is staying put. AU would have to cough up at least $36M. $26M buyout to Gus, plus another $10M to buyout his assistants, along with hiring a new coach plus his new assistants. Maybe when his buyout is much lower they cut ties.

Gus is 0-10 at LSU, UGA, and Bama.

South Carolina has beaten UGA more than AU over the last decade.

And Gus blathers on about ‘good practices’ and ‘getting things fixed’.

I want him gone. He has killed my enthusiasm since 2015.

Even funnier are the folks that believe Gus would be interested in leaving voluntarily, even if Auburn waives the buyout. He takes a 20 something million dollar haircut in that case. Any school willing to hire a coach dumb enough to make that deal, deserves what they get.

Ummm....how do you figure?

I mean, yeah, if he leaves for a place that expects him to volunteer his services. That would be pretty stupid.

Auburn fires Gus, they owe Gus 20 million +. Gus leaves Auburn, Gus or his new team owe Auburn 7 million or some such. Even if Auburn waives the buyout, Gus still loses the 20 something million Auburn would owe him if they fired him. Why in the hell would he do that?
