He runs a 3-3 stack or 3-3-5 which pretty much is what our 3-4 was. 3 linemen 3 linebackers and that extra backer actually being a safety. I’d love to have Strong, he sucks as a head coach but his defenses are aggressive and mean af. With our athletes it would be great.

We could easily run it as well because we have so much beef on the line.

Charlie hasn’t had a defense worth a damn in a while and the game has changed quite a bit from when he was a successful DC. People just like the name

He has been a complete and udder disaster at his last 2 stops. I say keep him away.

Charlie Strong should be a Top 3 or Top 5 candidate for any DC position that comes open.

Would be an excellent recruiter for 2 of our 3 strongest "out of state" areas, Texas and Florida.

Is a high character guy who has scratched his head coaching itch. Could settle in Baton Rouge for the long haul.

As a head coach. That’s a lot different than being a DC.

The guy definitely had some great defenses in his time as a DC at Florida. People will tell you no on that because of his failure as a head coach and the fact that he didn't have good defenses during those stops, but it's hard to replicate that success when you don't have the caliber of athlete he was coaching for the Gators when he was there. Also, being a DC for a major program is way different than being a head coach. He would actually get to focus on being a defensive coach instead of all of the other things that come with the head coach position. I think he would be a massive hire for LSU if they could pull it off. Defensive recruiting definitely wouldn't suffer from it and I personally think he's a damn good defensive coach.

IDK. Is Strong still considered an elite defensive mind or would this be like Chavis? Once great, but not anymore.

There is potential for that. I certainly wouldn’t put him at the top of the list, but he would be somewhere on it.

Yes, being a head coach completely deleted all of his DC ability. Just like Aranda, if he accepts this HC position at Baylor, he will be ruined as a DC.......

WTF is with you people, yes you immediately take him as DC if you get the chance.

He’d be somewhere on the list, but I wouldn’t start the search with him.
