Would you be okay getting Grubb from Washington if we lost Sloan and Hankton

I wouldn’t. There’s something about Sloan in his development of Jayden that I can’t pass up. I’d rather take a chance on Sloan as OC than to lose him with Nuss taking over.

Nope. If we lose Sloan, we lose out on Underwood. frick that.

why would you think LSU will lose either, much less both?

It’s just a hypothetical
I think keeping the two is better than getting Grubb

What about the development of Penix? I would say they’re equally impressive.

I agree with you. I like the two Louisiana guys hanging around though for recruiting purposes though.

True, don’t think those guys are going anywhere.

I wouldn’t be surprised if Hankton left after Sloan is announced OC. Might be best to get Grubb to keep them both.

The program is not bigger than 1 man. Make the best hire and let the chips fall where they may. There is no guarantee Sloan isn’t offered a HC gig before Underwood is ready to take the reins.

Sloan has been great, but every program is bigger than one recruit, who has not committed or signed yet.

Grubb would come here, light it up for a year or two and then he’s off to a HC gig.

Why would we lose Sloan and Hankton?

I think that is probably true on Bryce.
I have never seen a QB improve so much in a year and I have to give Sloan credit for much of that.
JD5 looked exactly like he did in 2022 in the FlaSt game, and I have little hope we would even have a winning season following that game. Then something happened and I believe Sloan is probably responsible.
So from my viewpoint, I see no reason why we would think that other OC's are substantially better than Sloan/Hankton to a point of paying someone like Grub, who had a great QB, an enormous amount of $ to coach LSU offense...starting a new offense for Nuss who has spent his entire career at LSU in the offense Sloan coaches? We know our AD will pay ridiculous $$ for whoever he hires, when he could pay Sloan/Hankton a pay raise and incentives that would be far less than a long term contract with any new OC. LSU needs to avoid that nonsense. We have a talented OC. Don't discard them just to show you have a lot of $ to spend.

Does Penix come with him with 4 years of eligibility?
Posted on 1/7/24 at 2:48 pm to geauxnavybeatbama
We're going to lose all 3 of them, probably within the next 5 years.

Some of these hypothetical questions on here make me question why we even come to TD to get news on lsu football and baseball. Does this dude have any ties to Kelly? Does he have any interest in leaving where he is to be an OC?y guess would be he would only leave to be a HC… 2# why would we loose either Sloan or Hankton, or both?

Penix is a freaking gamer, but his throwing motion annoys me.

Penix's short-arming and side-arming caught up with him tonight.
If he makes the throws the OC drew up, they're still in the game.

If we lose Sloan, underwood probably decommitts sometime over the summer.
