Would LSU be the most talented team ever inherited?

If Les Miles left? I think some great coaches would be interested. It's a job that doesn't require a rebuild like Florida, Michigan, Texas last year. If Les Miles leaves, LSU in its current state would be the most attractive job I've ever seen.

Totally forgot about this. Wow. Duh. But LSU has to be up there. I guess the fact that there wasn't a real coaching search made me forget it.

I agree that coaches would be interested. I don't think Les would leave all thetalent that he's built up.

Les inherited a Ferrari from Saban.
He handled it well for a while until he decided, for whatever reason, not to change the oil and burned up the engine.

Not really. He checked out early on recruiting before he left in 04. Miles had to pull that class out of the dumpster, and it still ended up below average when looking back. Despite the success in 05 and 06, we were pretty thin along the lines at first due to where Saban left things.

LSU 2005. If Katrina and the other hurricanes had not freaked up the early season LSU could easily have been undefeated going into the SECCG.

Don't put me in that group. He was plenty fallible when he was at LSU. I remember 2002 and 2004.
