If you listened to Lane's Theo Von interview, its clear that he was really fond of a fast paced city lifestyle with a bunch of stuff going on like he had at USC in LA initially, but since coming to Ole Miss he really appreciates the type of town Oxford is.
Having spent time in both, Gainesville to me is closer to that than Baton Rouge is. Neither is going to be exactly like Oxford though.

Red stick has gotten BAD. It is not someplace to raise a kid. Louisiana in general is a poor state, high crime, and little opportunity. Sad but true

Baton Rouge doesn’t need to be cleaned up, it needs to have things to fricking do
But it does look like a dump in many areas.

56 of 61 of theost dangerous cities in the US are run by people with a certain ideology. Gainesville is run by people of the opposite ideology. One is sheet, the other isn't.

“Clean Baton Rouge up”
If only that were a possibility

Campus, downtown, and government street need to be bought out, refurbished, and connected by bikes trails and scooter trails and add rooftop bars overlooking the Mississippi river where people can walk to after the games

Yea unfortunately the drive from the airport to campus is a disaster. I’d say embarrassing even.

It's what happens when your a liberal city. It's the main difference from other sec cities. Baton rouge people are too UPity to admit it

If smoking didn't kill me, would it be better? Uhh yea bro--there are like 3 nice metro/suburban areas in the entire state, and it ain't BR. Anywhere can be nice with $$ and PJ access to anywhere in the world

Most drives from airports are through shite hoods because no one wants to live near an airport.
Gainsville isnt the greatest either and Ole Miss is boring as frick.
I've stated this numerous times over the last week. When you have access to a fleet of private jets, where you live does not really matter that much.

This post is ludacris. I have lived in BR all my life and have never, not once, felt unsafe. Do I go into the areas that are "bad"? No but all metro areas have that. We have so much more to offer than either Oxfart or Gainesville, both of which are college towns that would disappear if their university left. BR would still thrive without LSU.

Good luck trying to convince those people. It's one of the reasons I left.
People who inherit their family business and coast by at the plant due to nepotism are usually pretty unaware of things happening in the real world. People who are competent and didn't grow up with any kind of privilege usually have toleave this place behind.
