I think if Coach O doesn't find the right fit, I can see him going to Raymond and basically giving him the job like he gave the oc job to Coach E

Give Raymond the CoDc title and go find a very good lb coach who has some DC experience to be the other CoDc and hire a very good dline coach and bring in a safety coach

E wasn’t a good OC.

We don’t need a middle man.

Can someone explain the Raymond thing to me? He's good enough as DB coach to keep giving raises to but we don't want him as the DC. Why exactly is he not appealing in that role?

Honest question.

Being a good DC coach doesn’t make you a good DC. Being a good recruiter doesn’t make you a good DC.

If he could be the guy, he should have stepped up and fixed the secondary lastbyear.

“That’s not his job!”

The frick it isn’t. You gotta think if he had real suggestions O would have listened while teams were showing off the 40 times on the field.

Honest question.

If someone was going to want him to be DC, it would have happened. There is a reason teams only come after him for recruiting and coaching DBs and LSU keeps giving him a new contract.

So you go around ask 2 guys if they want the job, they say no so you give up and hire the guy that has been there for while but isn't really qualified or really shown scheme/management is his strength but you go for it anyways. Is that what elite programs do these days?

All the while Bama wins a championship, replaces key coaches with ex NFL head coaches and the steamroller continues without missing a beat.

Raymond is too risky in my opinion. If he fails as DC and then he gets fired, you've lost your best recruiter.
