Frank is a recruiter and maybe a RB coach. I like him but I’d take Kevin Faulk over him and I think Kelly wants something different in term of ceiling potential.

I’ll say this, I went to the st aug v Edna Carr game when fournette was a sr (speedy noil and Gerald Willis played too). Frank was shaking hands like he was the POTUS, and it’s not like he was the only big time program coach in attendance to see multiple 5 stars play each other

It's crazy to me that he has gotten two head coaching jobs based pretty much on a good recruiting reputation.

So pretty much like Coach O.

I’d bet he likes running his own program. Otherwise he would be an assistant at a big school.

Doubt he would take it as long as he is the HC at Mcneese

I get Faulk is a legend here at LSU but I’m struggling to see how he’s a good RB coach. I guess he’s good at recruiting but you need a coach on staff who has an in with the New Orleans high school football mafia. O made good to repair that with Joseph.

Frank has to go up. He cast his lot as a HC and that’s what he wants. The only way he comes back to LSU is as the successor to Kelly. Might happen for us and him if he keeps getting better

The whole "one of us" thing striking again? He's had one winning season (6-5) as a head coach in 7 years. His teams got worse during his tenure at UTSA. His successor has them rolling right now, sitting at 11-1.

I really hope Frank does well at McNeese, but it sure looks like he's qualified to be a RB coach/recruiting coordinator, and that's about it.

Not sure I understand your post. I really like Frank, and would love to have him back at LSU on staff as an assistant, but…

-getting fired from UTSA already has his career going “down”
-There would have to be a major change in his career trajectory for him to ever be in consideration at LSU….like McNeese to TCU/TexasTech or some other mid-level school and then great success there
-failing at UTSA made it almost impossible that he’ll ever be the HC at LSU

McNeese is a shitty HC job, he would definitely consider a spot on the LSU staff. He makes $200k per year, and McNeese’s previous HC left to become coordinator at Syracuse.

By no means am I saying we’re hiring Wilson…I think not because of his ties to O. But I was just confused by your post.

I agree with almost everything in your post, but this isn't entirely accurate. McNeese may only be on the hook for that amount, but that's because UTSA is paying the rest of his salary. I believe his total compensation is around $900K.

Maybe that's why they agreed to give Frank a shot, despite the job he did at UTSA.

Would be a total coup if we could get him back here but he’d have to give up ever being a HC

He could easily be making $800,000 at LSU.

Once his contract with UTSA runs out, maybe he will consider it.

It was foolish for UTSA to hire him to begin with. Hiring “the recruiter” almost never works out.

Pretty much every McNeese fan would approve of this.

If Corey Raymond is not retained, then I'd like Frank on staff as the recruiting coordinator. Problem would be if Faulk was retained, as there would be overlap for RB coach.

Coach Wilson sounds completely content and in perfect place when he interviews weekly on Cullotta

I don't know, but it looked to me like Ty Davis-Price was improving throughout the season. Who would have thought he would own the single game rushing record or have a 1,000 yard season?

You are correct about recruiting in New Orleans.

Who cares who’s hands he was shaking like the president. You named 3 players and only one went to LSU. If he was this can’t miss recruiter and coach he would’ve got all 3.
