to become LSU'S head coach? Do coaches even do this? Would another coach waiver his buy out to come here?

I can't believe that Jimbo's name is getting floated. Why would he leave A&M?

Think about that for one second. What human would leave 10s of MILLIONS of dollars on the table??

You people need to think logically before starting threads. Honestly.

Jimbo was the answer at the end of 2015.

Unfortunately, LSU screwed him and themselves by keeping Miles one more season.

Jimbo is the answer to the question of who is A&M paying too much to.

Substitute Jimbos name for any other coach. This thread is about coaches waivering their buyouts. Has anyone ever waivered to go to their dream destination?

I don’t want Jimbo

However, Jimbo doesn’t have a buyout. If he want to leave for another university, that university is owed 0.

True, but he'd be walking away from a staggering amount of fully guaranteed money. He may have been worth it for around $6M/year in 2015, but he is certainly not worth what he would want now.

He has the highest buyout in the country by a large margin

Fisher, 56, is making $7.5 million this year and would be owed about $95.6 million if he is fired without cause on Dec. 1. Prior to the extension, he would've been due $45.6 million.

Buyout if fired. No penalty if leaving to take another job.

1. you don't know what a buyout is.

2. someone doesn't "waiver" a clause in their contract. They "waive" it.

TAM Fans wanted Jimbo gone just like the FSU fans wanted Jimbo gone until he won last week. Give him another few weeks ie losses and they'll gladly let you have him.

Woodward can prepare the buyout check in advance.

There is so much wrong with this question.

First, Jimbo has a one way buyout. Meaning A&M has to pay to fire, he does not have to pay to leave.

Second, if there was a buyout for Jimbo to leave, it would not be Jimbo’s right to waive it as it would be Jimbo’s obligation to pay it. A&M would have to waive it.

All that being said, I like Jimbo and would love to see what he could do with our QB (Nuss, Howard, Max, maybe Myles).

Jimbo was the answer in 05 after Saban.. should have skipped the Miles era and see if Jimbo could have held on, would have been cheap and could have moved on easily if need be.. but Mike Archer killed that idea
