If bama wins their next game, are you gonna request a name change to 14?

I might just to mess with people. I'm pretty sure I've already got that name registered, but I'm sure most will say that we'd need to win 5 more after the BCSNCG this year before I could "officially" be Bamasgot14.

If it turns out to be a bidding war, Auburn will win.

Don't let some of the crap people say fool you, Aggie has money. But you may be right anyway, Auburn may be more willing to part with a lot of $.

Yeah, somehow that money became available recently.

You think anyone would want to pay 1M for a DC? I'm not saying Auburn wouldn't, but that's a lot of dough for a DC.

I've read the contract would be 1.2 million a year.

That's an embarrassing amount of money for a DC. I can't see anyone topping that if that is true.

That's a lot of desperation, considering the head coach is a defensive guy.

I kind of agree, but I don't think money is going to be problem.. hearing the players talk about chiz being DC for the bowl game make me think he should just be the damn DC with help from Thig

You pay a guy that much to come in - not a raise, a la Gus, but an "outsider" - then he's essentially communicated he really only wants a HC job, but he'll come to you for a year for the bank. If I'm AU, I read the signs Stoops is giving, and I quit bidding against myself. FSU stopped at $650k. A&M isn't going to bid $1m, so to increase the offer from the $850k originally discussed means you are bidding against yourselves.

Go hire an ewually good DC who wants to be there. Just my take on it.

Possible. Would be two good hires, too. USM will name either Johnson or Anderson within days. If it is Johnson then Anderson to Auburn chances would increase. I still say there is work to do with Stoops. If $1.1M wasn't enough to get an immediate yes (about double the $650K FSU offered) then something else is there. That "something" may have nothing to do with AU.

I agree. Been thinking the same thing about Stoops for 2-3 days. I don't believe that Stoops has any interest in AU except for the opportunity to cash in for one year and then he is out of here. I still believe it will be Joe Whitt Jr.

Personally I think Stoops is playing Auburn and milking them for as much as he can and it's working. He's getting a big raise whether he stays at FSU or leaves. I would be happy with Stoops or JWJr. But if we pay Stoops 1.2 mil he better make some remarkable changes.

Yea, I'd be fine with getting Joe Whitt Jr as DC especially if he can bring Kevin Greene with him.
