Woodward hired Jimbo at A&M, whose been a failure. Why do we trust him to get this right?

I drank the kool aid on Woodward too, but his hire at A&M in year 4 just got beat by the guy he fired this season for incompetence.

He also hired Bo Pelini who was historically awful at LSU.

Cool. He got his man, Jimbo’s success has nothing to do with it. He’s basically knocked it out of the park on every head coaching hire he’s made in his entire career

I disagree. Jimbo was a bad hire. But perfection can't be achieved.

He went out and got the exact person A&M wanted. Regardless of what he’s done there, it was exactly the hire he needed to make.
Hard to judge a hire on current record. If it was a highly touted guy and he exceeded expectations, or a widely unlikeable hire and he sucked…then yea.
But Tom Herman was a slam dunk hire…until he wasn’t. Same with SO MANY hires out there.
