I can see Frank taking the Tulane job. He will get the players he needs and I think Miles has groomed him to be a Head Coach. A good Head Coach hires good Coordinators. I'm sure he knows what kind of identity he wants and knows what type of program he wants to run. I think the lack of being a coordinator is overrated in this situation.

Bowden went undefeated and left for a better job so not at all the same, but he and scelfo weren't much alike other than being white. Scelfo was an ol coach at UGA and Bowden had been a hit shot OC

Frank and CJ are both position coaches known primarily as nola recruiters and had no coordinating or hc experience. I don't know how they could be more alike.

Frank is a good recruiter and all but he's not beating out LSU for any kids at Tulane. So you're still in the same pool of talent the other state schools are scrapping for.

Tulane should look to a young OC looking for his first big break. They need to get an Xs and Os edge

Curtis is similar to Frank Wilson in the fact that he was a former high profile position coach from the New Orleans area that could recruit well. Tulane needs more of an Xs and Os guy, not s recruiter.

what are your thoughts on CJ as a coach

Not good at all. He's just figuring out the offense he wants to run won't work. Tulane hasn't picked up a blitz in 5 years, it's why every QB that has started multiple games under CJ has missed time with an injury. Despite the abomination they've been on O he cancelled multiple Spring Practices each of the last two seasons. He's also stuck with the same OC and scheme. The two good coaches on his original offensive staff were Mike Neu and Keith Johnson, he replaced Neu with Eric Price's out of work brother who had just been hanging around helping out his brother.

It's Fletcher Mackel so probably not accurate but how terrible would this be?

If he goes, go to a place like UCF

Rob Ryan has disaster written all over it.

He hasn't coached in college since the 90s. His defenses really weren't all that great at Okie Light and that was before pass happy spread teams had become common.

Why would Tulane hire basically the same exact guy (minus nfl experience) to replace a failed coach?
Frank > Tulane

Tulane has nothing advantageous to offer except new HC hopes to win 5-6 games first year and move on.

Frank wants a HC job, but Tulane would put his career track on a treadmill.

Show me the jobs better than Tulane that are interested in Frank. Also show me the guys with résumés like Frank's that have been successful.

Not what I said.

I think Frank needs to continue to grow as a coach before taking a job killer like Tulane.

I'm inclined to agree on the first part of that sentence, but the second part is just false. Tulane has never had a good coach who couldn't win. They've just been bad at picking a coach

We'll just agree to disagree then.

IMO Tulane hasn't helped a coach since Tommy and Rich Rod in 1998.

I'm not anti-Tulane btw. I just think it's a dead end job right now.

That would be highly entertaining.

Do you think Frank thinks that? Especially right now?

isn't Frank Wilson a natural fit there. He would likely have to take a pay cut, but timing, location, etc...it just seems "right"
what about Tim Rebowe?
