This is not a sarcastic a comment and I’m sure it’s been discussed (I’ve been preoccupied at work this week where I’ve only been able to really read headlines of all the changes) - I think it is interesting how Orgeron and Wilson go way back and during O’s tenure at LSU they obviously didn’t coach together but in days after O’s last day, Wilson leaves McNeese for LSU.

I imagine O would have tried to get Wilson at LSU and the timing for Wilson did not work?

Or maybe Frank saw what it was like coaching for O and thought "Never again, bro."

I was surprised he didn’t come back after he was fired from UTSA

That’s why I’m curious if it was something other than timing.

Really?? Even things that are clearly not Orgeron’s fault, like assistants taking HC jobs, is Orgeron’s fault. FW coached “O’s” son as starting QB for pete’s sake. I get it. You don’t like what “O” did the last 2 years. If you break it down a lot of bad things happened that we not under “O’s” purview. Moving forward is looking forward. We should try not to get trapped blaming everything on the guy who’s just left. Maybe it’s time for the whole staff to decide where their loyalties lie. IMO there were many internal problems. Some of them involved fan favorites. Time to clean house.

These people are ate up with it. The QB situation is also O’s fault somehow I’d love to hear what could have been done differently.

maybe Peetz was a crappy hire?? maybe no one else would come work for O? Maybe...a lot of things. who the F knows.

i can tell you that O was the captain and the ship was losing its way. nothing else really matters.

Not many people enjoy working under someone when they know they are smarter and more qualified

Frank wanted to be a head coach and that’s why he took McNeese. Everyone knew he wouldn’t be there more than 3 years max

Don’t forget Os kid was Franks QB at McNeese and O made almost every game and was on the field with him before and after the games

I'm surprised he got another HC job after UTSA.

Those are kids HE recruited going 12-1 and he couldn't win with them.

That’s why I make these fans aren’t very mad he’s leaving. He is a great recruiter no doubt, but his record speaks for itself. They were bad in his two seasons and had had scratching calls every game and horrible playcalling. They just looked like a very undisciplined team

You're talking about the FR and SOs that are JRs and SRs now?

I tried to get him back but he landed the McNeese job pretty fast.

Frank wasn’t going to work a guy who was less qualified than he was to run this program.

If all that was needed to be the head coach of LSU was to be a great recruiter (which it clearly isn’t), then Frank Wilson would have been the guy.

You’re right - O handled the QB room the last two seasons masterfully.

Is it clear? Wilson came back as soon as O was out, hence my question.

Coach O probably told him to look for jobs. O’s ego is too big, couldn’t have another ace recruiter on staff.
