A proven ACC coach would be behind Frank Wilson, a guy that's coached 5 games in Conference USA? Lol.

Fedora in his middle 50s and what exactly has he won at USM or UNC?

I'll take my chances with Frank and the potential versus at absolute best a Les Miles clone.

hes a great QB coach, weve always known that, but i dont think hes a better overall HC than Miles. I dont think hes an upgrade, we'll be different but not better.

Jimbo is a better HC than Les, no questions asked. He recruited on par with Les. His results are better. He's probably the best coach in the nation at making halftime adjustments. Oh, and he turns decent QB's into 1st round picks.

Guess you haven't noticed the difference.

How much did LSU pay for head coaches then? How much did LSU pay for assistant coaches? What type of practice facilities did LSU have then? What type of football operations facilities did LSU have? What type of academic learning center did LSU have? How much money was LSU bringing in from season tickets, tradition fund fees, and sweet rentals?

That era ended when LSU hired Mark Emmert. We won't return to that type of mediocrity for quite some time. Not saying we can't have bad seasons, but we aren't about to roll off multiple 4 and 5 win seasons any time soon.

We don't need to be so obtuse where we think LSU can just hire anyone and at worse they will do what Les did.

My source said they just want to say that they did an extensive search and exercised full due diligence.

Did your source also confirm that Herman to Texas is, essentially, a done deal unless they (Texas) screws it up?

We know that's what you desperately want. That doesn't make it true.

Taggert also holds the record for worst loss by a FBS team to a FCS team when McNeese beat them 53-21

Congrats on pointing out his first game ever as HC at USF, in 2013, when they were coming off a 3-9 season. His years at USF:

2013: 2-10
2014: 4-8
2015: 8-5
2016: 5-1

I think Jimbo > Herman specifically for the LSU job. Maybe LSU Admin feels that this is THE destination job for Jimbo while Herman will always be under constant speculation and connection to the NFL, USCw, and Texas. And in Jimbo you know what you will get; and maybe they have just a slight hesitation to know if Herman is the real deal or a Malzahn like fad...

i cant recall fisher calling a timeout after a turnover. I cant recall a time when Fisher mismanaged the clock. on top of that, I cant recall him doing it 2 seasons in a row. i cant recall when fisher did that a 3rd time. you trying to tell me that fisher isn't a better in game manager and x's/o's guy than miles? c'mon.

I like Jimbo as much as Herman, too, but let's not compare Herman to Malzahn. The latter was a HS coach who got a shot on the Arkie staff because he coached a stud QB recruit, then he got Cam Newton. I think Malzahn's offense is very heavily dependent on the 'right' QB whereas Herman's offense seems so far to be able to coach up a QB and adapt to his skills.
